A cracking night in Dundee.

2 fantastic goals sealing it for Celtic.

Wilson should get a ban for the elbow on the Dundee player.

Well Hibs seem to be content on giving away gifts even after Xmas! Celtic will hammer us, nice it's a Saturday 3pm kick off! Bumper crowd expected given that season ticket holders get a free ticket for a mate.

Baird admits he pulled Wilson's arm and that it wasn't an elbow.

Case closed, now lets move on.

missed out deliberate elbow. But here is the quote:

Wilson has been our best defender this season, Ambrose and him have been a good partnership.

I think Wilson has done well for you this season from what I have seen. Seriously lacking at CL level though, I have to admit.

Great win for Celtic but what about Hibs, HK?

"Think" it was accidental. The TV evidence suggests otherwise.

Unless it's something blatant and dangerous, a player will never actively encourage the SFA to retrospectively get involved.

Still buzzing from yesterday at Firhill

1st half Thistle should have been out of sight, absolutely took us to pieces but couldn't score more than one.

Wee Allan Moore worked his magic in the dressing room and it seemed to be a different Morton that came out for the 2nd half, tidser and Bachirou started to control the midfield and Davie o'brien was like a different player. The equaliser came through big mad mental Martin hardie, tony Wallace effort was saved by smith in the jags goal the ball broke to hardie who fired into the net. Morton looked the more likely to win from then on and had a Bachirou effort cleared off the line. Partick were reduced to 10 men when Ross Forbes who had been booked for persistent fouling decided to put a reckless challenge in on Craig Reid leaving the ref with no option but to send him off. The winner came with 6 minutes to go when Scott taggart gathered the ball on the edge of the box and fired low into the net to send the 1300 Morton fans home happy.

Edit: should add there was just under 5000 there, brilliant attendance for the first division

What happened at the game in Dundee last night? Pal says there is a stooshie in the local papers about the behaviour of the away support?

I was told by someone who works the turnstiles that operators were abused, spat at, sworn at and generally treated like dirt by sections of the away support. Some fans also tried to climb over the turnstiles (which, as anyone who's been to Dens will know, is impossible).

The reasons the fans were trying to jump turnstyles was due to a crush I'm surprised no one was injured seriously the stewarding and the police was a joke. Inside I heard there was a fight between celtic fans at the other end of the turnstyles amongst each other and I witnessed dundee fans fighting with stewards and police quiet night up at dens by all acounts.

That pretty much sums up what I heard inside the ground as well, I got in the ground early and thankfully missed it.

A fight between members of a couple schemey gangs.

That isn't getting away from the fact there were a fair number of folk in the Celtic end who shouldn't have gotten in the group due to how much they had drank before the match.

Loving some of the comments on the Courier site about it, looks like ZZ had a bus run.

A crush that was presumably caused by Celtic fans, no?

What's Hillsborough got to do with anything?

I asked a simple question; your answer could be interpreted as trying to deflect.

Trying to deflect as your post was when saying the crush was caused by Celtic fans??

Football fans turning up to the ground with little time to spare is hardly a new phenomenon is it yet it would seem Dundee FC, their staff and stewards weren't properly prepared when it came to getting fans in the ground.

I've already said that there was fighting in the Celtic end and that there were people in the Celtic end who shouldn't have been there so I don't understand what exactly I am trying to 'deflect' from??
Mark.

No, I asked a question.
Quote:

I didn't say it was, but short of building a few extra turnstiles at lightning speed, what could have been done by DFC, the police or the stewards?

If fans turn up close to kick-off then proceed to try and force their way in, I'm not sure where else the blame can lie (hence my original question).

The reasons for the behaviour at the turnstiles.

Seems Dundee have admitted to letting fans in when they were far too drunk to go in but they felt they had no choice. We all know the drinking culture in Scotland so why was this not planned for?
