That's a bit cheeky. Who officially recognises this ?

Charles Green transferred the history to the newco and added the records to the newco. It is a new company, not a new club.

Please provide evidence of this official recognition, that isn't simply a link to a website.

A letter or email from a person in authority at the relevant bodies would suffice.

I have no problem with the history being transferred - the problem I have is the reaction to the commission and the seeming 'can't touch us now' attitude with regards to the 'dual contracts' commission.

There is the possibility that Rangers FC from 2000-2011 improperly registered players in order to operate the EBT scheme. If that ends up being the case and they are found to have acted improperly with regard to the EBT Scheme and player registrations then action must be taken.

This isn't a minor 'breach of procedure' we're talking about here.

No.

In fact, I celebrate goals scored in Europe more than I celebrated goals against our former rivals.

You've still not answered the question of how you transfer history.

"New company, not a new club" is too hilarious for comment.
Sun Tzu.

I don't want to upset anyone and I hope I haven't on here. I just wanted to hear the views of the non Old Firm fans and Celtic fans on this. Hopefully I will get the views of Rangers fans on here tomorrow.
Sun Tzu.

Charles Green bought the assets like I said.

Did the SFA not say it is still the same old club? Just a new company? That is what I heard on Clyde superscoreboard any way.

You haven't upset anyone, unfortunately you have completely failed to back up your opinion.

Assets ≠ history.

IIRC Stewart Regan said it was for others to judge - he never explicitly stated one way or another.

Assets ≠ history.”

But they still haven't got any of those titles stripped and they actually belong to Rangers still. Can some one clarify how this is possible if it is a new club?

It doesn't bother me as I support Arsenal but I am just wondering about the situation and if Scottish football will ever recover.

On the football side the 'dual contracts' commission is the only thing left for Green's Rangers to deal with.

However BDO have yet to start formally liquidating the OldCo and I think that is where the next chapter will be written in this sorry saga.

Yep, and if hey are not stripped they can remain in the records as won by that former Rangers club just like all the other trophies won in Scotland and England by clubs that have long ceased to exist.

Good luck to newco Rangers in starting to try and establish a history of their own. I had hopes they would start with that Ramsden Cup, but it was not to be. I guess the third diivsion title will be the likely first one.

At the current point in time Rangers (IL) haven't been found guilty of cheating yet.

They belong to the team who are being liquidised.

Lets hope so. I always enjoy watching the Old Firm fixture. Rangers fans still seem to be remaining loyal though.

Of course you do Sun, of course you do.”

I don't. I just enjoy great football rivalries between distinct clubs and different people in those clubs. Like Rangers being the Protestant club, Celtic the Catholic club etc. I just love the history.

Celtic have never been a 'Catholic club'.

Was Celtic not formed by a Catholic priest and most of its supporters are Catholic? Perhaps I am wrong but that is what I thought.

I have just seen Lord Nimmo Smith has recognised Rangers. Any more on this?

Quote:
“The good news is their entitlement to the 140-year history they’ve so desperately been trying to cling on to has officially been recognised by Lord Nimmo Smith.

The bad news is that means they have to pick up the tab for the sins of their fathers.

The High Court judge has been appointed to chair an independent committee investigating Rangers’ use of EBTs over an 11-year spell and whether they had breached SPL contract rules.

And he has issued a document detailing the reasons why the “Newco” owning Rangers – despite never having been a member of the SPL – can still be held liable when they convene in November.

It’s a heavyweight tome. Twenty-one pages, 8500 words and enough legal jargon to send an entire courtroom into a coma.

Nimmo Smith makes it crystal clear the SPL have no legal sway over Sevco Scotland but goes on to determine that the club called Rangers are still playing in Division Three.”

No, they weren't.

Maybe they are. That doesn't make them a 'Catholic club' though. Manchester United have more supporters in China than they do in England, does that make them a Chinese club?
