We have seen the most reacent companions with their families. Rose had Jackie she even got her dad Pete back and a new little brother Tony when her parents reconciled in the paralel universe. Martha has been the only companion to have siblings Letisha and Leo. After the horrible year with the master she had to take time off to help her family recover.
Donna had her mum Sylvia and grandad Wilf. Amys family were only seen at her wedding Mum,dad and aunt but we will see Rorys dad in 7.2 and 7.4 but not his mum. Don't know if we will see anyonelse from Ledworth again like Geoff and his gran.Sadly think River will remain an only child so the Ponds missed a lot of her life and being her actual parents.
Finally we meet miss Clara at christmas. Wonder if she will bring much bagage in the form of family, freinds or possibly evil exes!. With this show anything is possible.

I suspect not a full family. Moffat seems to have ditched that idea, save for the odd appearance of a family member. Even Amy's parents only appeared briefly. He has done family but in a very different way, married couple and their child on board the Tardis.

With any luck, Clara is not connected to Amy/Rory/River in any way shape or form.

She'll probably have a family or a former flame. How prominent they will be we have yet to see.
