Cat home from vet and hungry!

She had a general anaesthetic (had seven teeth out) and I'm supposed to offer her a small soft meal in the evening - but she's ravenous and clawing at the cupboard doors!

She hasn't had anything to eat since 8pm last night so I'm not surprised that she's hungry. Is it okay to feed her if that's what she wants? I'm not sure she can hold out another hour or so!

Were you given post op food?

If not, do you have a little white fish - strip a fishfinger perhaps?

She needs small, easy to digest food for a day or so as the digestive system can be sluggish after a GA.

If you have nothing else, small amounts of her regular food will do.

But yes, fine to feed her now. Being hungry is a good sign!!

Thanks! They gave me some chicken in gravy sachets so I gave her half of one of those and it didn't touch the sides! She's begging for more but I'll try and give it an hour or so.

Good plan - too much too soon and she might throw up

Sounds like she's already on the mend
