I mentioned this to someone a while back and they didn't believe that KFC used to produce barbequed spare ribs in the most delicious sauce.
They were yummy!

I remember them.

They were nothing like ribs in the traditional sense - more like bones dipped in a meat an barbecue sauce mix.

I loved them.

Most other chicken places still do them. Google chicken cottage. They do them.

Yes, yes yes.
I thought that I imagined it.
The sauce was to die for.....

PS. I wish KFC would revert back to serving their meals in flip top lid boxes. I hate those sweaty heat keeping bags they use now.

The ribs were available from about 1974. They were wonderful.

When did they stop? I wish they would reintroduce them again! I've not tasted a rib that comes even close since!

I was walking past a KFC in the town during the week and I saw a poster saying that Ribs are back on the menu .... but only seemingly in Scotland.

I will try and sample them tomorrow when I pass the KFC again ...

Well had the KFC BBQ ribs today and they were pretty good - lots of meat on them and plenty of BBQ sauce, which surprisingly had quite a decent kick.

£3.99 for 300g (5 ribs)
Regular Meal deal was £5.69
Large Meal deal was £6.99

TBH I think you would need fries to mop up all that delicious sauce and this was a nice wee snack, certainly not a meal though ...

A lot of the the KFC clones continued doing the ribs and although they were close, they were never the same.

I wish I lived in Scotland.

Did the KFC ribs have the same coating as the chicken?

There was a local takeaway which was so much better than KFC. Tasted better, bigger pieces and for a lower price.

They also did ribs in the same coating.

Even though they were frozen and reheated in the microwave with the BBQ sauce they were still great.

The takeaway next door to it, which has been in the town for about 20 years, bought it out and then closed it down a few months later. BOO!!!!
