TV's all time most awesome characters

Who is TV's all time most awesome character? As in a character who makes a great TV show greater or gives a TV show that little extra gem even if the TV show isn't that great. These are the characters who you don't say "well the character was awesome up to season X". Most of the time the actor will mostly be responsible for making the character that much better than the writers. Either there Kickass Spys, Loving Parents or just simple Comic Relief i.e. you love it when they appear on screen.

I would say some of the more awesome characters include:
Sam Axe (Burn Notice)
Dr. Walter Bishop (Fringe)
Hugo Reyes (Lost)
Jack Bauer (24)
John Casey (Chuck)
Tyrion Lannister (Game of Thrones)
Faith Lehan (Buffy/Angel)
Horatio Caine (CSI: MIami)
Andrew Wells (Buffy/Angel)
Seth Cohen (The O.C.)
Pam (True Blood)
VInce Masuka (Dexter)
Josiah Barlet (The West Wing)
No. 6 (Battlestar Galatica)
Tony Soprano (The Sopranos)

But my personal all time most awesome character:
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (NCIS)

Seriously, no Columbo?

Dude faced down killers knowing what they did and played the fool to get them to trap themselves. Had a crap car but always caught the bad guy. Psychos all fall before him. For an old guy with one good eye he beasted those lunatics.
