Dare I mention the who killed Lucy storyline? The police knew that Lucy did not die on the common and that her body was placed there after her death. Now after bobby's confession, they have decided that after Lucy took a considerable whack to the head she inexplicably got up, walked to the common and died there.

I see my post about Retcon Saint Robert of Sugden got deleted.

Shame, it was a doozy.

So I heard.

I just hope you don't talk like that on The One Show thread.

Saint Roberto of Yorkshire will be Canonized shortly.....

What a retcon!

He's had all what made him a great character ( dark, psychotic, Machiavellian , etc ) surgically removed and now wanders about making Aaron a cup of tea!

Yawn.

Exactement. But I'm not permitted to comment further on that.

I enjoyed it probably more than Robert did , I wonder if it was the explicit nature that got it deleted or the fact you mocked the great love of modern times, there is a lot of censorship with regards to this couple.

You can add Minty to those two.

He was a scumbag slum landlord when he first appeared (actually the ideal mate for a lowlife like the Philth) but was then transformed into everybody's cuddly uncle as time went on.

Rewriting the Mitchell/Watts back-story to shoehorn the Hubbards in, and the subsequent retconning of "ello Princess" was DTC effectively shitting on EastEnders' 30 year history from a great height. I think he came across as rather desperate to ensure his place in the legacy of the show by tinkering with classic stories from the past.

Probably both.

Let's rephrase it by saying that soaps's most recent biggest retcon is that Saint Robert of Sugden has always been at heart a Truly Decent and Totally Gay Fella who just needed to be washed clean by the tears of Aaron to be totally transformed from a bitter twisted scheming heterosexual and highly entertaining bastard into his True Boring Self.

Try that.

What was offensive about the original post? Oh I get it someone just couldn't bear the actual facts

Yes she was - When she left to travel Europe after her trauma of temporary blindness, she was a smiley, obedient little kid and Daphne was already pregnant.
When Lucy returned she was a stroppy, resentful tweenager, and Daphne, after a 2-year pregnancy was about to give birth.

No-where near as accurate or funny - but it'll do

To be fair, these days, the point of Robron is to sit awkwardly on the sofa three feet apart.

VJ in Home and Away was born on screen 13 years ago and was recently recast, the actor they hired is in his 20s I actually don't know if they have adjusted VJs age accordingly but even if they aged him up to 16/17 the actor would easier pass for 36. One of the most ridiculous pieces of casting I have seen in soap It's like watching that Robin Williams film Jack, were he plays a young boy with some sort of rapid ageing syndrome.

Practically married. Which explains the boredom, bad temper and sexlessness.

I totally agree.
That casting was just bloody ludicrous

Whenever he had scenes with Jet who was supposed to be his best friend and the same age, they looked ridiculous! He was a foot and a half taller and had a 5 o'clock shadow and a six pack and he was supposed to be about 12. What were they thinking? The kid who played VJ before Felix Dean had grown up on the show too, I felt quite attached to him.
