How do I edit e-mails using Samsung Galaxy 2
This is a real pain in the a$#@. On the iphone this can be done with ease but on android it can't be done at all. I've tried forwarding the e-mail so as to allow me to edit. Doesn't work. I have download K-9 mail, Polaris and Adobe reader but there is no way to edit unless I purchase the full app.
Please, can someone tell me how I can edit either hotmail or gmail on android? |

Edit incoming mail? reply to it and then change the 'to' address to your own?
Outgoing mail? tap in the text field and the soft/virtual keyboard will pop up |

I must admit I don't understand how you're not able to edit an email. It works the same on my Android phone as it does on my iPhone. Can you explain exactly what it is you're trying to edit? Is it an attachment?

What do you mean by edit?
Edit what, incoming / outgoing? Are you using imap or pop3? Do you mean a draft? |

Are you trying to edit PDFs and office docs and then email them?
considering polaris being mentioned. |

I'm looking to edit an e-mail that has been sent to me. The e-mail contains a form which I need to alter. Replying, forwarding etc don't work in hotmail or google mail. I have tried. It's something to do with android. I just need a work around. I don't want to edit PDF's or any downloaded document although advice on that would be welcome as I could solve the problem in a different way.

So the form is embedded in the email and not an attachment?
How would you do the editing on a pc.? |

For anyone googling this problem and should you stumble across this thread. Let me assure you there is a partial work around. Buy android office (£3.72). This will allow you to edit attachments. You still won't be able to edit messages in hotmail, gmail etc but at least you'll be several steps closer to reaching your goal.

If you're using the official Gmail app rather than the built in email app, which I believe is pretty normal if you use Gmail then:
Tap the email, tap reply, tap respond in-line, edit the email. This is assuming the bit of the email you want to edit is plain text and not an attachment or html. |

Sent email to gmail, edited it, forwarded the edit to another account. I used the pen/pencil icon in K9 to edit the received message before forwarding it. |
