They give him his own live episode. Wow.

I like Billy. The show needs long running characters like him, who might not be high profile characters, but do provide a bit of history. He's only getting about seven minutes of live time, I think it's a good move.

Surely if you don't want a character to become repetitive and tiresome then you should give them screen time so they can be taken in a new direction. Billy's not been very prominent in the show for months, so I'll let him have this episode.

......give him something new to do. Ridiculous, eh?

Well, I'm sorry but I don't see how such a jape idea is a 'new direction' for him. He's always been lumbered with the tediously random storylines when they can't find anything significant for him to do so, yes, I do see it as repetitive. It's just more pandering to the pointlessness of the character. We'll agree to disagree though.

I love Billy, it's about time he featured in the show more. He's on the One Show right now.

I love Billy when he's given serious storylines because god knows the actor has the aptitude for it (the train episode is still one of my favourites) but to keep giving him either nothing or nothing-noteworthy to do is, in my opinion, an insult to the characters history on the show and the actors capabilities. What I'm saying is this: I don't mind EE giving him more to do, I just wish they'd give him something with more substance to do.

The thing is with Billy is he is an enternal loser. So every time they give him something good they have to take it away again, hence the repetition. It's a shame that they cannot give the character some development but if they did he wouldn't be Billy anymore.

I like Billy, he's always been one of my fave EE characters when he's given a little bit of a storyline.

I think this is precisely why he annoys me. I'm a writer and I, personally, would never create a character that could stop growing.

Although I get where you're coming from, this to me proves why Billy has effectively ran his course as a character. He should've been written out when Honey was to be honest.
