Firefox 14 released

So there's another new version of FF out this morning. I got a message reminding me to install the update when I launched it this morning, but I haven't yet installed. Who's having a launch party for FF 14 then?

FF14 appeared in the Linux repository today and it seems to be fine so far.

Where is there an explanation of what 14 has done for us? I can't find one.

What's the point of giving numbers for every single update?

Just keeps saying

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.

It was fine a few days ago.

Well... you get this little globe icon in the address bar where the favicon used to display... not certain but i believe the buttons themselves may have changed slightly and uh... 14 is a higher number than 13.

As usual anyone who uses extensions and finds they keep breaking may benefit from the following:

about:config
right click - new boolean
extensions.checkcompatibility.14.0
false

Whilst your in there you might want to add 15, 16, 17 etc

What's the point of these threads? By now everyone should know that Firefox releases every six weeks.

There has already a bug found in v14 already. Where goggle search uses HTTPS://, but if you click on an ad within the search it will then disable the HTTPS:// on Google search so anyone who produces ads can see what you are looking at.

I'm a Firefox user and I've had that problem for a couple of months now. Nothing I found on a search for a remedy has made any sense to me.

Regarding FF. version 14, since I updated yesterday scrolling web pages has become a real pain, before the update everything scrolled smoothly, now it's jerky. I tried the same pages using Epithany and they scroll nice and smooth

It's definitely associated with Firefox.

I'm inclined to agree. To me the numbers suggest a major update, but surely what we get now every six weeks should actually be minor sub-numbers as still seems to be the convention elsewhere. I don't think I've actually noticed anything 'new' visually or functionally since possibly version 4.

I think you would have to be on another planet not to know that Firefox updates every six weeks but this is a forum and some people like to discuss these things, even if it has been discussed before.

You don't have to read it and join the discussion.

Weird why they went to 14.0.1 and not 14.0 but far too many versions get released. They need to calm it slightly.

It is a major change in that It now has automatically encrypted Google searches.

Have filed script error faults and get no reply.
Scrolling has been random for the past month or so, either jerks or flies to the end of page. Thought my laptop had locked up a few weeks ago. Other progs OK. No reply
Firefox still running, had that once starting from cold. No reply.

Ask for feedback and offer no support. Go through their website you find that most are long standing issues. They should address existing old problems before introducing new ones.
