I heard that they changed their mind at the last minute and swapped him out for Joe. Last season, there was originally meant to be a guy named Jason in the cast, but they swapped him at the last moment. (Rumoured to be for Dominic)

The year before, the cast originally contained a woman named Paula, but she pulled out and wasn't replaced.

Hypothetical. Probably because that is the only person they can see being traded.

Jason wasn't replaced, he was just dropped altogether. Dominic was always a cast member who was interviewed with everyone else on media day. Jason was just let go due to a 'creative decision'
