I'm a newbie to Grey's Anatomy
After years of being told how amazing this show is, I brought the boxset and I'm currently on episode 11 of series 1.
I love it ![]() My favourite character is Alex at the moment but I don't dislke anyone. I've seen Private Practice (series 1-4) so know Addison from that and it's weird seeing her and Derek together after hearing so much about him. |

I never thought Alex came across that well in Season 1, but each to their own I guess
![]() I enjoyed the first four seasons of the show, then not so much after that - although still watching it

It gets very good. It also gets very cheesy in places though but there have been more than a few episodes that have made me blub like a girl

It has good patches and bad patches, but at it's best, it's absolutely gripping!

The first two seasons are amazing, season 3 is dodgy and after that it picks up quite a bit again. I have just fallen out with it at the end of season 8 (like many others) because they did something that upset us a lot!
You'll see when you get that far! Enjoy! There are loads of amazing characters to come, that you haven't even met yet

They showed the first couple of seasons on Really, but they stopped after that, which was really annoying as I was really enjoying it.

I envy you! I have Series 1 to 7 on DVD and am currently rewatching Series 8, although along with some other fans, I was not happy with the last episode.
I like Alex as well, but as you watch, you may find like me you have different favourites in different series, but my favourite in all of them is Bailey and you will see how her character grows and develops during the series. Other favourites are Meredith, Cristina and Addison and a character who introduced in Series 2 and is just brilliant, well I think so!
Spoiler
The only series I'm not that keen on is Series 4, but even that has it's moments. I'm currently doing a rewatch of 1 ~ 7 on DVD and am up to Ep 13 Series 5. I'm just grateful to Channel 5 as a couple of years ago they showed the whole first series at lunchtime and I got hooked then. |

then was angry then thought "ah well" Love this show. Can't wait for more. It has its ups and downs but the ups far outweigh the downs and after 8 seasons its still a strong show. |

I watched 1-5 as a boxset and enjoyed it very much. George is my favourite character.
Unfortunately it turns out that I cannot stand Meredith - a bit of a disadvantage when she's the eponymous character. I now sometimes watch it on Sky - completely out of order - I have no idea what happened at the end of Season 8 so am off to find out!! |

Ah, I did happen to see that finale.
Meh (but then I had disengaged from the series by then). |

I've been looking at clips on youtube and saw Alex crying and Izzy hugging him in the last episode of series 4-why is he crying?

But I kind of like him more now than I did in the past. The only characters I have never gotten used to and like are Izzy and Meredith. |

I'll say something about Alex, but i'll spoiler it just in case - it doesn't give anything away plot-wise (i think..), but best be careful i suppose ![]()
