How many towns in the UK have those annual events where people dress up as airplanes and then fall in the water?

I hate flying, that stomach sinking feeling drives me crazy. I know the feeling is similar to taking fast lifts (which I dislike too) and in a car when it goes down a steep slope, but being in a plane, the drop can be much more.

Really??? THAT must have been one expensive undertaking - IIRC the Modlin area used to be very boggy/marshy!

I was in 47 Sqn and, aside from the fact that we were flying tactically (following the terrain etc), the Hercules had a design fault at the time. The rear door (the bit that goes up into the roof) didn't always latch into place and the skipper had to give it zero g to make it click in. Anyone fooling about and floating around was in for a severe bollocking! |
