A thread to discuss anything to do with aviation, but mainly in the UK, such as new services, news about airlines etc.

How many towns in the UK have those annual events where people dress up as airplanes and then fall in the water?

Me too - I wonder if it was the same one ........ did it have an air hostess who always ran out of orange juice just before she got to you?

I hate flying, that stomach sinking feeling drives me crazy. I know the feeling is similar to taking fast lifts (which I dislike too) and in a car when it goes down a steep slope, but being in a plane, the drop can be much more.

Really??? THAT must have been one expensive undertaking - IIRC the Modlin area used to be very boggy/marshy!

Hah! You should try this!

I was in 47 Sqn and, aside from the fact that we were flying tactically (following the terrain etc), the Hercules had a design fault at the time. The rear door (the bit that goes up into the roof) didn't always latch into place and the skipper had to give it zero g to make it click in. Anyone fooling about and floating around was in for a severe bollocking!
