Stories You'd Like To See In The Future

I'd like to see a properly scary Cyberman story. I had an idea that something goes wrong with conversions (maybe under a mining colony or a drifting spaceship), and people become half converted. This gives the Doctor a dilemma, because some are closer to human than Cyberman, so it's more difficult for him to destroy them. But I suppose it might be a bit dark for Doctor Who, and something similar has been done in Torchwood (but I came up with the idea before it! ).

Or maybe a story in a jungle setting

we deffo need a story featuring the cybermen from our universe and to be stated that they do indeed come from our universe and not petes world

Might also be nice to have a story set in Egypt, maybe something to do with the Osirians though I wouldnt want Sutekh to reurn

A prequel in what way?

Jack and the stolen ambulance didn't turn up Earth until 1941 I believe so any adventure set in WWI wouldn't have a lot to connect it to the Empty Child.

That would only be pandering to those fans who feel they need an explanation. There is no need for this, either for the vast majority of the audience, nor for the characters in their story universe. It wouldn't drive the story along, unless there was a story about the two different versions fighting.

If, however, you meant a story along those lines, I wouldn't mind it either.

But if you meant it as a clarification only, then it would be pointless...

As far as i'm concerned we don't need any more explanation.

The Cybermen in AGMGTW display traits of both universe versions.
The technologies have merged, they are all Cybermen, both histories are valid now let's get on with it

I'd like to see the Time lords back.
The Monk/Master/Rani and Drax
Zygons/Ice warriors/Ranston warrior robot
cliffhangers
Jamie and Zoe
A Cyberman story based on the Colin Baker BBC webcast story where the Cybermen of the future evolve into cyborgs and look human. Then travel back in time and meet there ancestors.
Abbsolum Dark character in a dalek story
multi-doctor story

Agreed, ALL of these would be cool.

I've long thought Paul Whitehouse would make a great Drax.
Raston Warrior robots are well cool and should have been re-used long ago.

Either a descendant of Jamie's or a visit to him as Laird of his clan would be a good way to give a nod to the 50th anniversary of the 2nd Docs first appearance in a few years (woohooo we should just acknowledge the anniversary of everything every day and have 365 eps a year )

Any Cybermen stories are fine by me, I think either them or the Daleks are due a heavy series arc soon.

...and your final suggestion ABSLOM DAAK ....... Yes Yes Woohoo jump up and down shouting nee nar neee nar ..... great character and an appearance would be most welcome

The Doctor stealing the TARDIS and other events from before we met number 1.

(Weren't previous incarnations of the Doctor (before William Hartnell) shown in the mind battle in (was it) Brain of Morbius? Maybe my memory of that one is faulty. It's been a while)Re-appearance of the Doctor's "daughter".

Ice Warriors (as villains)”

Your memory is correct mate, but this was meant to be a joke as all the characters that appeared in the mind battle were producers and directors of doctor Who provided their dressed up images as supposedly the Doctor and Morbius. I think though that this is mostly ignored and William Hartnell is universally regarded as the first incarnation of the Doctor. In my mind he is anyway!

Not at all backed up by anything in series, just my little idea. But yeah, I want to know more about the process, and by extension, whether its a galifreyan thing or just select people (aka timelords vs galifreyans)”

That's an interesting idea but I think a lot of people would find an episode like that boring unless it had some action as well (I like it though)

And one is a previous companion who's been converted?

A pure historical a la Hartnell or Davison's "Black Orchid".

Basically I meant like the monsters to feature in an episode that is set before the events of these two episodes. They had gas masks in WW1 I believe so the monsters could return but before WW2. Maybe not a prequel but I'm sure you understand where I'm coming from?

Thanks for that! Nobody ever seemes to refer to there being Doctors before the William Hartnell version and I was beginning to think I'd imagined it!

Well now, I do like the idea of a companion from Ireland, to be sure.
And the Vikings in America - Leif Erikson's lot - sounds good. But let's have the Doctor solve an Earthbound problem for them, not invading aliens (yawn). Indeed, let's have the Doctor help people with purely local problems which do not threaten the planet, the galaxy, or life, the universe and everything. He saves that just too often.

I suppose a story with Tribbles is out?

I'd like to see a one-off story with the Doctor telling his companion/s about how it all started! We've all heard him talk about it before - but he's never said any more!
I think Mackenzie Crook would make a good young William Hartnell! We could meet his son (or daughter) to explain Susan away. It won't give TOO much away in the end. We already know this has happened! Wouldn't it be nice to see HOW it happened?
Lot's of chances for guest stars - as family or time lords.
It would have to be an hour special for CIN or his next regeneration though......I think they've got enough on for the 50th

Yes it is, you should be ashamed of yourself :P

Bringing Star Trek to a Doctor Who forum is like Amnesty International being sponsored by Nestle.

Not really...

After all, the 9th Doctor and Rose had a passing cameo in a Star Trek comic.

And the 11th Doctor is starring in a current crossover comic with the crew of The Next Generation...

So it would be more like Amnesty International being sponsored by Geri Halliwell (she's a Goodwill Ambassador, similar territory, but not the same).

A 'Genesis' style storyline in which The Doctor ends up on Mondas shortly before or just after it lost it's orbit with the sun. It's inhabitants have settled underground in an attempt to survive, but the powers that be have other plans.

The Doctor, knowing what these plans involve, goes to great lengths to convince the governments of the world to settle for an alternative plan, averting the creation of the original Cybermen. However the plan backfires and The Doctor is forced to allow or even encourage the Cybermen's creation to continue.

Not my idea, I read it on another forum ages ago, but I would love to see it come to life. The beauty of it is that the Mondas Cybermen originated not from a lust for power and wanting to rid the world of humanity, like the Cybus Cybermen, but from one race's desperation to survive.

The way she was treated both in the TV series (worst companion departure ever) and the spin-off novels (contracts an STD in one and is murdered by the Master in another ) she's entitled to be!

How about another evil companion?
A episode where we discover what happened to the masters Tardis
A deadly alliance, the doctor and a Cyberman/sontaran/dalek trapped together and have to co-operate.(not original but you know what i mean.)
The Doctor has a temporary gender change for one story-(we'd all like to see if a female Doctor would work) Surrannne Jones/Gemma Arterton /Bonnie wright

It would have to be a little while before this is done, as it is almost exactly the same as the Toclafane.

True, it would be nice to see it happen one day though.
