I didn't say Gears invented anything I just used the best known example. You seem to taking this personally, the game is poor, the vast majority of people who played it (both here and on other forums) said it was poor. I would say 80/90% of posts on all forums I have been reading today are negative. You cant tell anything form week one sales, this game is coming off the back after two reasonably successful prequels. That alone would guarantee a hefty number of preorders. I would be waiting to see what sales are like after a few months. Check the 2nd price to see how many people are buying this 2 months down the line. |

I certainly don't think this will flop outright, but I have a feeling this demo will definitely do some damage to the opening sale numbers, been on a few different threads and spoken to a few friends and the overall vibe is definitely one of negativity from this.
If the critical reviews are reflective of the general reactions to the demo then that won't help matters, and then bad word of mouth from fans will take its toll aswell. I understand what Capcom are trying to do by attempting to please both sets of fans that have spring up since Resi 4 and 5, but I just get the feeling that this will be the straw that breaks alot of the fans backs. Rather than it being one full complete and well made experience it is coming across as several half baked productions. GOW certainly didn't invent the idea of a cover based TPS, but it definitely refined it and became the benchmark that most games are still trying to reach even today, and the Chris and Jake sections feel like they are running to catch up 6 years down the line. Something as cumbersome as needing to hit LT for cover, and then A to crouch cover, it is just messy and fiddly when compared to something like Gears where a single button will get you to cover smoothly, Resi 6 is coming off as sloppy and badly designed. |

This was a worry of mine if im honest the whole trying to please two sets of fans but in the end it just disapoints everyone
Because in the end whichever Storyline you prefer there all going to suffer because of the other Im still buying this day 1 I loved all the resident evils plus there seems to be upgrading your character in this one so maybe stuff like this is what the full game improves on |

It appears that there's something all RE fans hate in this game. I hate the 3 campaigns. They should all be interlinked instead of seperate.
I will still get this on Day 1 because I'll no doubt enjoy it. I loved RE5 and lots of people slate that. It would have been good to see one of the characters have a classic RE1/2/3 style campaign. |

Not surprise at the response to this demo, the series has been on a downward trajectory for some time and the trailers all looked cack.

What's happened to the aiming, the recoil on your pistol is shocking.
Found the demo a tad boring. Will probably buy this when its cheap as chips. |

Is the demo on super easy, because its actually possible to run through the entire demo without firing a shot or using melee, well not quite as some places require you to shoot. Its just a case of dodging the zombies, way way to easy to move forward without lifting your gun.
Based on the demo alone, its my opinion that this is a truely shocking attempt at a TPS let alone a Resident Evil game. |

I expect it will get more harder like RE4+5 as you go on obviously. I just cannot see how capcom could screw up this massive franchise not with the winning formula that they had for past REs I reckon these minor changes that have been brought in work in the full game Cannot wait for the reviews to start coming in iv already found one from Official PlayStation Magazine Italy they gave it a 9 good stuff |

The herbs, what have they done to the herbs? You collect them as normal, you combine them as normal, but instead of a red+green herb giving you full health, you now get 6 pills to pop! Why?
The cover system, why do we need such a comprehensive cover system for a zombie game, do the zombies get guns? I've got such a bee in my bonnet about this demo, sorry! If this is what Capcom have come up with to please the 'we want to walk and shoot lobby', then its a sad day for the franchise and gaming in general. I hate this demo and won't be spending £40 on the full game to see if it get better. Disapointment personified. |

...A good example of how lame this game is... when you reach that garden with the balloons, you need to reach the other side, there are half dozen zombies between you and the objective... yes you can shoot the zombies or just strole across at your leasure. I thought why bother having any zombies out there! Its really bad. Even when your trapped in the corridor until the door unlocks, the melee is so powerful you could just beat everybody up and save your bullets. OMG I could rant all day how bad this demo is, but I'm deleting it from my HDD and just gonna pretend RE6 doesn't exist. |

The demo did disappoint me a little, although I enjoyed Leon and Helena's part mainly for the zombies and dark environment. The other parts just seemed boring to me and J'avo weren't very challenging to fight. I'll likely still buy it though because parts of seemed fun and I kind of want to know what the full storyline is, but I doubt it will be as good as I thought it was going to be maybe my expectations where to high.
And did the herbs remind anyone else of Tic-Tacs

Well im stumped
IMO if you liked RE4+5 i just dunno how you could not like this one its more of the same with new changes to the mix Fans wanted zombies back and there in leons chapter in the demo but now because there not running at you its not exciting its boring which just proves the point that capcom made the right move with the new type of zombies started in RE4 In RE2 you could run past zombies aswell in alot of areas In the RE6 demo If they stuffed that garden full of zombies so that you could not move it would be too much IMO almost cartoony like dead rising |

For a Resi game that's moved more into the action genre rather than survival it just seems very thin on the ground. Maybe its just this section they've used for the demo, I really don't know, but as far as the demo gos the game is rubbish. To me anyway. |

I think my overall problem is that Resi 4 and 5 both felt like well made games.
This comes across as a bad Third Person Shooter demo with half a Resident Evil skin pasted over the top. If the mechanics were nice and smooth and the camera wasn't one of the worst I have ever seen in a game then I may be more forgiving, but to be honest this demo reminded me more of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City (a badly developed TPS) than a fully fledged and cannonical sequel. |

for some (not all) of the people moaning I think its a case of we got what we wanted in the form on zombies and the atmosphere of leons campain, but we've been moaning that we wanted this stuff so long what do we do now Let's moan about all the new stuff they have included there is nothing they can do about that until the next one so we get a few more years or moaning to do |

I don't think this is more of the same, Personally I wish it was. Leons campaign does seem similar to Resi 5. Chris is nothing similar it is as I have said a very bad TPS. And Jake's is somewhere in the middle. What I did notice about Jakes campaign is you start with 5 guns, why start with so many guns? I like the finding new weapons and upgrading part. |

Messed around in the settings and found you could turn the old style laser back on Turning the hud of is a feature im so glad they put in i hate when games tell you where to go I enjoyed it even more this time i picked up no problems with the aiming and shooting The camera is abit close and can get abit wonky at times ill admit this one but its not a deal breaker for me |
