Anyone watching Veep?

I am trying to but find it hardwork. I am sure that I miss a lot of the humour because of the fast delivery and poor diction of the actors. I am disappointed as it seem full of in-jokes amongst the cast and they equate speed of speech with witticsim. It has the potential for a great series, but it does not have the class of "Yes Minister".

It doesn't have the class of the Thick of It, if which it's the US version.

Its slow plodding and I just can't get a feel for it.

I watched some of the first episode and considered forcing myself to watch the rest - but came to my senses.

It's a bit like Spin City, but without the talent and without the laughs.

No .... I don't think you've missed it , I just don't think it were ever there. An "in joke" is just a flat piece of dialog unless you're one of the "in" crowd. SC had quite a fast delivery, lots of to-and-fro' between characters, but it was clearly funny and the timing was never lost.

I'm glad it's not just me. I watched half an episode of it.

My wife and I struggled through the first episode. We decided to give it one more chance, and watched the second episode... but then gave up halfway. Meh.

I enjoy it, anything with Buster from Arrested Development is hilarious as far as I'm concerned, he can do no wrong.

It's watchable, but flawed, could have been so much better.

I'm really enjoying it. I really like Julia Louis-Dreyfus. I'm watching it on Sky Player as I am a bit behind with episodes. Love that Buster from Arrested Development and Anna Chulmsky (My Girl) is in it too. I'll definitely be buying it when it comes out

I tried to watch it but it just bored me. I didn't find it even remotely funny.

I would have to say that this week’s VEEP (episode five) was by far the strongest / funniest episode so far.

My perseverance has finally been rewarded.

I hope this is a trend and not a blip.

I agree. Sharper and grittier too. The viagra bit was funny and the sequence at the thrash metal gig was a scream. Are there two VEEP threads

I really like it and did from the first episode. It's nowhere near the standard of The Thick of it, but it makes me laugh out loud and theres not much on tele these days that does that!

It bugged me for ages who her blonde PA was and I finally got it last week... She's 'My Girl'.

It so does!!

This weeks was brilliant, loved the repugnant/pregnant confusion and pissy handshakes.

I take back what I said about it not being the same standard as The Thick of it...
