Is Natasha Kaplinsky ''the new Cilla Black''?
The BBC's new Golden Girl Natasha Kaplinsky is to become ''the new Cilla Black'' after her stint as a contestant and a presenter on Strictly Come Dancing, hence she is presenting the BBC's New Years Celebration Show on 31st Decmebr / 1st January.
I really like Natasha, she's a great presenter I think she got the ability to enter the realm of entertainment as well as continuing as a newsreader. Plus she's a very clever girl (i.e. she's A GRADUATE OF OXFORD UNIVERSITY!!!!!!!!!!!!) What do you peeps think, is she ''the new Cilla Black''? |

She's not nearly irritating enough to be tarred with that brush! And she's attractive. She can probably sing too. No comparison
I reckon she's a bit too serious to want completely down the entertainment highway, she likes to dabble in grown-up broadcasting, but flap around in the fun stuff too. But who knows, eh?Welcome to DS, Winifred

Lets see ....
Irritating voice with false scouse accent - no Fallen out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down? - no Opens her mouth to sing and a horrid noise comes out? - no Presenter of dumbed down TV programmes - no In a nutshell, she's not the new Cilla - thank god. She is a thousand times better looking and more talented. (Stick the tenner in the post Natasha....) lol |

Sorry but I can't abide her and I'm sick of her, she seems to be like Carol Vorderman a few years ago...everywhere!!!
She comes across as having no personality whatsoever. |

She's another Meja Ho, Like Kate (BB3) or Darren Day.
Talentless, wannabees who are only on tv for their own ego. The world of entertainment wouldnt miss them one bit, and the sooner Kaplunsky's bubble bursts the better. Seeing her miserable face in the mornings is a real downer. Her interview 'technique' is rubbish. |

No, she has a TV career cos unlike the other wannabes you mentioned (Meja Ho, Kate (BB3) or Darren Day), she is extermely intelligent (hint to mrfreeze: she has a degree from Oxford Uni in English, the poeple you mentioned don't even have degree let alone a degree from Oxford) and has great communication skills. I think she's a breath of fresh air in the morning.

'Breath of fresh air' Don't make me laff, she's so stiff and emotionless, I doubt anyone would notice if she was in a coma on set. |

I loved the Dead Ringers sketch about her. A ball of string and there she is trying to grab it.

I quite like having Kerplunski on my TV. I remember her on Sky News back in the day. She always used to look tastier on Sky )must have a better make up department than the BBC).
Kaplanqskli started getting more gigs after moving to BBC breakfast because of her sexy looks. Doesnt really matter what your personality is like these days I suppose. Because the BBC has to get as much as it can for its money, it likes to overexpose its top starts by giving them loads of programs. This means they dont have to employ as many people, and are effectively getting their talent for a nice price. Cheap labour. Kachapalsqui is another example of this. |

She will probably end up quitting the BBC Breakfast thing soon as they say move on to bigger and better things. Seems to be making quite a name for herself for sure!

Other than her inability to read an autocue, lack of knowledge about anything much at all outside tabloid gossip and under-inflated sexdoll appearance, she's fine.
I suggest you get over to the Guardian Talk boards and have a look at the BBC Breakfast - Gahhh!!! thread for a comprehensive demolition of Kerplunk.

She was useless on Meridian Tonight, how she's done so well is anyone's guess (and I see some people already have
)

well she is a bit of eye candy for the morning is the best that can be said for her, and that isn't much when you look at the opposition.
Frankly her presentation style on SCD has annoyed the t*ts off me, I never thought I would say it but I am very glad that the other girl is back this week If all the stuff in the press is true she is far too ambitious for my liking. Particularly with her level of ability. |

I don't think she is as annoying as Cilla, but she is still annoying.
As lonepiper said, I think she is too self-conscious/serious to be an all-round entertainer type. She is clever/intelligent etc., but I think she falls into the "glamorous and clever but dull category" along with Fiona Bruce etc. |
