Sorry but he looks completely different to the way he was before. His whole physique is different. Even if he had been working out he would still have a slim build like before, just more muscular. This guy is much wider built.

I used to work in a gym so know what I am talking about. Even if he had developed a steroid addiction he would not look the way he does now.

They could surely have found someone who even remotely resembled the old Ryan Connor. I think this recast was done purely on appearances...

You have a point, when you put it like that. But I still think his bad behavior is much more constant this time where as most of the time the previous Ryan was quite a nice chap.

I keep reading comments along the lines of 'who cares? he looks good' I guess that's what the producers were aiming for. Heaven forbid anyone concerned themselves with the acting or finding an actor with a vague resemblance to the previous one.

I dunno but I find it hard to believe Michelle is actually Nu-Ryans mother, he looks more like a boyfriend than a son, I belived Old-Ryan was her son, I quite liked their dymanic together. I'm not taking to Nu-Ryan at all, I don't mind Rob, hes a new character completely, I'm giving him a chance because he hasn't been there before, a canvas ready to paint on to me, but Ryan as a character has been there before and his personality is very different to what I recall he was last time.. my opinion.

Maybe. But the writing is awful. He was all 'establishment' at one point and then he was banging on about his "twins" referring to his biceps as if he was some body building fight nut.

It's a bizarre recast, but I find this new version of Ryan a much more interesting character than the old one. I guess we'll get used to him.

I agree that Ryan looks older than 20 but not by too much, unlike Tommy who's meant to be 19 (I think the writers have forgotten Tommy's 19 as well putting him in scenes with 29yo Tyrone and Jason)!

I think the new Ryan's acting is better than the old one, but he seems to have undergone a character transformation from a nice kid to a bit of a bad boy, which is unrealistic within the space of two years.
