Seems like Corrie just wanted to cast a new "hot bit of rough" and didn't give two jots about the credibility of it.

Terrible piece of casting, in my opinion.

Now, in true Corrie fashion, the character is going to be overused to the extreme. I'm already bored with his scenes.

Fair enough after two months but a week's worth of episodes? Gimme a break, it stinks of something suspicious frankly.

Truth is, it's given Michelle something to do, will bring out a new side of Carla and both actors are very easy on the eye.

No complaints here.”

Eastenders fans are just jealous because Corrie is the best soap on TV.

Least Corrie doesn't need to bring back old faces from the past. I mean how desperate must the show be bringing back Sharon Watts aka Miss Piggy for the 100th time.

He can act and will improve as the weeks go on.

Hmmm, someone called "CorrieDaBest" slating EastEnders and its fans. Troll alert.

And may I point you in the direction of Terry Duckworth, Dennis Tanner, and the soon to be reappearing Wendy Crozier - all of which have returned within the last year and a bit, so your second point is completely invalid. ALL SOAPS BRING BACK PAST CHARACTERS.

Next to the guy playing Carla's brother, he looks RADA trained, but I agree the character of Ryan is now beyond a joke. Not only is Sol too old for the part (and looks it) but they appear to have forgotten that Ryan isn't even Michelle's real son. All through this drugs saga I have been wondering whether she will call Ryan's real father. I remember for a little while after the 'baby swap' storyline Ryan occasionally referred to visiting his real dad but since then neither Alex or Ryan's real dad have been mentioned. It's like none of it ever happened. I know soaps drop things all the time and sometimes have poor continuity but you can't ignore a full plot arc like that. Yes it was preposterous but it still happened.

Apart from being a bit old for the part I don't mind him, better than the truly dreadful Rob - God, he's soooooooo bad.. my least favourite actor (using the term loosely) in soap at the moment.

Preferred the old ryan.

It was accepted that even thought Ryan wasn't Michelle's biological son, because he had grown up with her and Dean, that he is her son if you see what I mean, Alex just went back to his dad
