And let me guess..not enough old hits despite them buying tickets for the MDNA tour. I think people go the show and expect the Immaculate Collection tour

Interesting declaration wizzy
Back just before Part 4 became into existence, we had the idea of naming each part thereafter after Madonna's albums. We asked the mods but they refused so "unofficially" we have called each new part after the next album. This then is the 4th part since the request was made hence Like A Prayer.

Do people realise Madonna has material since Confessions? Bloody hell, why do people go to the MDNA tour and moan that they don't know the songs. How about buy the album. People should know by now her tours are always new material heavy. If it was called the greatest hits tour then yeah but it wasn't. arghhhhhhhh.

I don't know why people moan about the little things, I'm 5'4 and I know if it's a gig like HP I have to go early and get a decent view.

I'm 36 and started listening to M when I was about 8/9 by the time True Blue was released as I was a complete fanatic, used to make up my own dances to all the songs and perform them at xmas for all the family, oh cringe. I remember I had a very old extremely religious great aunt who when my granny explained she needed to switch over the tv station so I could watch M, the old lady said how great it was that I was so devoted to The Madonna and that she had a book at home about her that I could have, I was all excited that this old woman had a book on M but my granny explained it was the other Madonna lol, I remember the feeling of complete disappointment LOL

when you guys are organising to go to the next gig together count me in if that's ok, would be ace to go with fans just like me

Reminds me of one of the recordings of You'll See on DWT when you can hear an audience member say "She should play some of her old stuff"... and it's like oh ffs. What were you expecting, Immaculate Collection live?

Although to be fair, I do think the new tour is a little too MDNA heavy.

What i love about it is that it showcases Madonna is still an ARTIST by definition, never ever relying heavily on her legacy/back catalogue but always bringing it forward.

Even she said in recent interviews if she had her way she would only have her previous material as mixes/interludes and rely only on the new album material....but because demand requires some hits/previous album material she reinvents them but subsequently means she axes some album songs out of the setlist. But tbh i think we all know she loves performing at least a handful of her classics per tour

On the way out I overheard some people saying they love that she doesn't rely on her older material. It's always a new tour, what more can people ask for? They would be moaning if she toured the same old stuff every two years. Woman can't bloody win.

I love MDNA though so I'm really not bothered about how many songs she plays. The woman is never going to win is she. If people are turning up to hear lucky star and into the groove they may aswell stay at home and rock up if/when she does a greatest hits.

Tbh...i think another reason (always so many) why ilove Madonna is she isnt the same as her contemporaries that established themselves over a decade of a back catalogue and just relied heavily on that material they made for ever more!

But with Madonna, at least you have a handful of her hits reinvented for the new era and some fantastic live interpretations of her album material....though some more mash-ups would have been excellent for the MDNA tour, it is all down to timing and more and more planning...but you can so tell a lot of effort has been put into the show by what i have seen and so many have said!

And i forever want Madonna to keep relying on her newest/latest material for as long as she can maintain it! As with the S&S tour....MDNA Tour really has brought the album songs to life, and made me love even more the songs i loved anyway.

Despite the fact Love Spent, Some girls, Beautiful Killer, Falling Free will never see the light of day on the tour (unless......)

Also who else would have loved an Im A Sinner/Ray Of Light (Ultra Violet Mix)/ Beautiful Stranger breakdown???

I'd like to see Madonna perform Jump on tour again. I love that song (and the wig she wore in the music video would have been so cool as a real haircut for her).

I do like how even though a lot of the crowd obviously enjoyed her older songs better, people went absolutely nuts for I'm Addicted. I'd been hoping it would be a crowd pleaser because it's SUCH a perfect song to get everybody going, and it did.

Re: The technical difficulties...I only noticed the Gang Bang and I'm Addicted problems yesterday. I love the fact that I was having such a good time, and that the atmosphere was so good, none of the many disasters actually mattered at all. I wonder what did cause the failure of the motel to appear in Gang Bang though?

oh my gosh josh!

And yeah i know, although i always kinda hum, mutter the words to myself really (well nearly always...so many songs in my head its a real jukebox!)

Again a reminder that so many songs on album only that have never seen the light of day on tour...even some singles...maybe we will in the future however!

But the likes of let It Will Be, Spanish Eyes, Bad girl, Words, Till Death Do Us Part.....all could have been included and utilised.

And for Confessions songs/singles....please at some point get together and Sorry (really thought Sorry may have been mixed with Wild in a performance on tour...but alas)

It did have a lot of songs from MDNA hence the MDNA tour.
However, it wasn't originally going to. It was to be called The Madonna World Tour and was going to feature a hit from every album which facebook fans were voting for. After Like A Prayer though (or Erotica) the voting stopped and the tour renamed MDNA in order to promote the album after Guy Oseary realised he had cocked up with the album promotion.

But, having said that, the MDNA tour featured a good range of old hits:

(Material Girl tribute in Girl Gone Wild)
Papa Don't Preach
Hung Up
Express Yourself
The Video wall retrospective montage
Open Your Heart
Justify My Love (Video Interlude)
Vogue
Candy Shop/Erotica
Human Nature
Like A Virgin
Like A Prayer
Celebration

In my view and based on recent tours, this is actually far more past hits than usually performed on tour. If some people have never heard of them that isn't really Madonna's fault.
