Also about "Ballads" i do tend to find the traditional "Pop Ballad" boring....its the reason why i dont buy the likes of Celine Dion, Barbara Steisand, Mariah...you know that kinda stuff? and the reason why i cannot warm to Adele too....its all very...i loved, i lost...thats it....but with Madonna i love that when she does a ballad its like its own genre...i mean Masterpiece of late is possibly the closest to a traditional Pop Ballad she has ever done.
The only thing is....if she does an entire disc in that style it will become very stale and we dont want that.....but...i feel she can make it exciting if she cranks it up and emotes herself and makes innovative mid-tempos, ballads from the soul and really intoxifies and makes something truly MADONNA....she can still have Dance elements (a la Beautiful Killer) she can still do electronics (a la Mirwais/Orbit style) but she can corner new areas not done in maisntream yet. Dream Pop, Neo-Soul being two sides....Alternative Pop also....this area i reckon she will excell in...never count Madonna out

I agree with you about Paul Epworth. I think he would be amazing. Love Florence and the Machine. I also agree that working with William Orbit is not a good idea. I think if she were to work with an older collaborator, Patrick Leonard would be a better idea than Orbit, because he's a songwriter not a producer and he could do more diverse stuff. She could write with him but get someone more edgy to produce it.
I also love the idea of dream pop like xx. Josh, your ideas are always amazing. Can Madonna hire you? their versitality as a duo is beyond immense. I mean i adore her team ups with Bray and Pettibone and Betts and Leonard and Benitez and Mirwais and Price....but its with Leonard i feel they really bring you into such a world...its beautiful.Ah sweet i like that you like my ideas i do feel thats an angle to head though...that way look at the territories she can explore....oh man if i did work with her i can deffo speak for a fans perspective....deep poignant lyrics, innovation, "madonna ballads" (they are a genre) you know? oh yes and a strong reinvention ![]() MDNA has been very neutral and a mix mash of styles i feel....but album 13 i think she can branch out and really mix it up. But thanks gigi means a lot

I agree with everything you said. I do think though that Masterpiece isn't quite a traditional ballad because it has a cool acoustic feeling to it. When I think of traditional ballads I think of a more piano based sound with maybe some drums coming in the middle like a lot of Adele's stuff.
haha!Yeah...i mean stuff like Flroence Welch mid-tempos and ballads i adore because its often absurd stuff...and i love when Madonna doesnt go for simplicity in production but rather innovative made effortless ![]() ![]() But there is a blank space with me and Adele i really understand why she has had the success she has had because she can speak to so many people and her background etc but her music bar a couple songs really dont stem out to me like i mentioned previously....i wouldnt like Madonna to be exclusive to that style.....but if she mashed it up say with "Dream Pop" "Dark Wave" "neo-soul" it opens up a whole new world for her and a new universe for us fans to be introduced to a new reinvention...and i feel we are ready for something massive and very MADONNA next up

Madonna's daughter, Lourdes posted her current favorite songs on a blog she has. She has much more indie tastes than her mother.
Lana Del Rey; National Anthem -Yeah Yeah Yeah; Heads will roll ( A-Track Remix) -Slightly Stoopid; Closer to the sun -Skrillex; Kyoto -Peaches; Mommy Complex -Neon Indian; Hex Girlfriend -Grimes; Oblivion -Fiona Apple; Criminal -Friends; Friend Crush So if you think Madonna's recent music on MDNA is too childish and immature, it's not Lola's fault! |

Really push it out there....i think what happened with MDNAs singles is they went "safe" and the more eclect songs and fan favourite songs on the album were shunned....but tbh i dont think it should matter about singles anymore....focus on the album and promote and the video to just circulate on channels regardless....i mean many of my favourite albums of recent years dont chart high on singles nor albums really but sustain a fair bit of promo performances and have impressive visuals. M can put her film energy into her videos and make something delicious and whether it gets played or not should not matter...i mean the irony is if she makes a cracker the playlist may just happen due to popularity....but regardless the album shall be the main focus

Madonna fans are so fickle.
You want her to be winning awards, getting praise and being successfull yet are willing her on to follow the crappy generic dance sound that everyone is currently doing. Might I remind people that while they are so quick to slag off William Orbit it was William's song Masterpiece that took all the praise this era and won a Golden Globe. She only lost out on an Oscar nomination because of a silly rule they overlooked. So she could have ended up bagging herself one of those if they had realised sooner.. I wouldn't exactly say Wiliam was a backward step when he is the only producer to deliver the good for her this era. All the other songs flopped whether you like it or not. MDNA's singles in comparison with all her previous works have been a massive fail. This would indicate the wilder public are now bored with this side of Madonna. Masterpeice on the other hand was embraced.... that tells us everything we need to know. |

i wasnt saying it was a mis-step...it just brought nothing new with Orbit involved...however Love Spent produced by Free School with Orbit was a forward step...Solveig delivered gold with I Dont give a and Beautiful Killer and the Demo Crew did astounding work with Im Addicted and gang bang!
While i do understand the reason why Masterpiece got the golden globe (hands down the best song there) it certainly was not the only song to garner acclaim, it is the only song that was released that got the most praise however....but gang bang, im addicted, love spent, beautiful killer have each also recieved a lot of praise too. So its not just specifically "ballads" but rather introspection and story telling which is what we all love to eat...not necessarily "slowing down" but bringing a more melancholic, adventurous and organic record next up for album 13 where no holds barred Madonna is unleashed ....but ironically MDNA is effotlessly great all round and still gets a lot of play from me and still my favourite album this year anyhow

Madonna and Penn....and he wishes he could re-wind the clock....
http://www.inquisitr.com/361928/mado...as-still-1985/ It must be such a surreal experience for the both of them but i adore that they love each other so much still as mutual respect for one another too...i love that he is a fan and goes to her shows and Madonna praised him when he performed as Harvey Milk a few years back

Anyone on here got any Madonna tattoo's or would consider getting one? I love the hebrew one she had for the Die Another Day video on her arm and would probably get that with that Ray Of Light symbol underneath so that it's subtle but clear to any Madonna fan

I'm not sure about that. The stuff he did on MDNA was okay, but not super amazing. I think they had an amazing moment in time when they did ROL, but sometimes it's hard to go back and recapture the magic because people change. WO is great but he does tend to do a lot of the same sounds. I think she should work with someone new she hasn't worked with before.
Didn't WO say that their best stuff ( for the MDNA album) didn't end up going on? and that he gave some 'better' songs to Chris Brown? Some Girls is great but maybe you won't agree, never mind, as long as I enjoy it that's ok! Someone said Madonna and Pat Leonard were great together, that's true! She also made great music with Shep Pettibone and Steve Bray (the 80s/90s were her best eras IMO!) She should work with these legends again, also William Orbit and she should make a ballads album, remind us that she can actually sing and isn't just the 'tits and arse' artist that people seem to think she is, I don't think ballads are at all boring, mature Madonna would be great. |

William Orbit was just "shit stirring" they included all of their recordings bar a few for MDNA because she waned 12 songs with 12 different styles on her 12th studio album.
nothing good ever came out from Chris Browns album...Dont Wake Me Up was the only production Orbit did for that album and that IMO is Orbits lowest ever moment...ever. But regardless orbit did offer a lot of great stuff on MDNA even if it was retreading the same ground....but the Industrial beats on Some girls is superb and the mashing up of styles on Love Spent is sublime...if released grammy worthy! and gang bang with the Demo Crew is beyond this earth and Falling Free is a melancholic beauty indeed ![]() Anyways....tomorrow we shall celebrate the union that was Madonna, Pettibone and Betts as it is the 20th anniversary of the launch date of EROTICA!! Erotica20 shall make its debut ![]() So sharing memories, favourite performances, images, SEX book hysterics, moments across 1992/93 in all their glory...history was made...the worlds biggest musical backlash ignited....and Madonna proved in so many ways that she was the one on top! With House rhythms, intoxicating Jazz samples, a very underground dark layer of Trip Hop and Oriental rhythms with a few seductive Lounge grooves, the Erotica album took us to a very dark and brash universe no one dared to go before or ever since..... Erotica is one of my favourite albums of all time...second to Like A Prayer in my list and i feel we should celebrate like only we know how....kerchink!!!

You seem to be well read when it comes to Madonna, for a young guy. Exactly how much of your time/life does Madonna actually occupy? |
