it's a nice place with a broad and diverse range of fans. there are battle ground where you just bitch and slag off other singers, then singers sub-forums for exclusives (only some have them) threads for others then the media section and so on

I love Hard Candy!

Top 3 tracks:
1) Candy Shop - My Sugar is Rawwwwww! Such playful harmless fun from Madonna!
2) She's Not Me - Possibly one of the most spiteful pop songs ever, love how bitchy and bitter it is, really one of the few examples of the 'Hard' of Hard Candy!
3) Heartbeat - Love this cute trancey number although "See my booty get down!" never sits right, a Queen has to be classier!

I really wish Madonna pushed on with this Black Madonna concept and been really controversial and untapped potential. After COADF and the really long distance relationship with the US after the American Life era I feel that the label/management's kiss and make up session with the US was a bit too forced and as a result of this Americanised bid they forgot what Madonna is meant to be all about. Creative, innovative, ballsy and FEARLESS. Global superstar. GLOBAL not US. She needs to appeal to every country, every sound somewhere in her records now more than ever. Unity not division! Hard Candy as an album is solid but Black Madonna is such a fearless concept! Would have loved more Price! Maybe that Price push would have helped him advance more instead of keeping that safey 2006 vibe when working with Kylie and the Scissor Sisters!

As ever...agreed with that

Black Madonna as a concept would have pushed it....innovation is always key and after COADF she defiitely has been on trend....but she must always be AHEAD...and Synthpop, Alternative Dance, Industrial would have MADE the album a masterpiece tbh...its an unfulfilled masterpiece tbh....i mean it could have been 100% kick ass!

Agreed it may have pushed Price to different routes, really experiment and get ahead of the game with it...Black Madonna!

Ooh nice I'll be sure to look at it again though I'll have to lurk it a bit, see who the big characters are like when I came on here and found out JP was the Queen of the Madonna AT...had to plot

Who isn't JP we all like a sneaky peak

Yes, the most frustrating aspect of Hard Candy is the fact you can hear traces of what it could be in the material. The synthpop moments on Dance Tonight, Incredible, She's Not Me, Alternative Dance in there too and of course Heartbeat. It's like a torment a "this is what it really should be", like the essence of Black Madonna is calling through these songs! At least the tour was surefire hot!

As much as I love seeing rock & roll M, I am gonna be devil's advocate here and request she drops the rock version of Hung Up in favour of the electro version, I muuuuuuuch prefer that! it was timeless the first time, don't fix what don't need fixin girl!

Did anyone else ADORE Cee Lo at the Superbowl? His voice KILLED Like A Prayer, so soulful, so powerful, a perfect match. Loved his belting out Open Your Heart with Madonna too. That costume was so cute too! I would have laughed/been amazed if Cee Lo was on earlier and did the Party Rock Anthem dance with Madonna and LMFAO! Still cannot get over that show stopping Open Your Heart from the MDNA tour, just a cultural explosion! I want that band that sung La Isla Bonita with Madonna at Live Earth to come back!! Loved em!

Yeah i agree....the Black Madonna concept really excited me! really dark, ambient....almost Like A Prayer utilising religous and grounded aspects to charge really superhuman sounds off the wall lyrics and beats and directions making ahead of the era!

I mean i can imagine African beats and rhythms, snare drums, personal aspects hidden away...so many like what is hinted in Hard Candy (identity, love, loss, self discovery its all hidden there just needs to be brought to the fore)...her debut album and Like A Virgin and True Blue all mixed electronic with live instruments, Like A Prayer focused on live instruments...Black Madonna could have focused heavily on those aspects....really organic elements, really autobiographical and an explosive finish for the Warner era

YEAH!!! i loved it...and felt Cee Lo woud have worked on Black Madonna too...same with Andre 3000...love his voice would have worked so well with Madonnas vocal and style!

And so true...that band were on Latte for the album and should have been on there...damnit, the live versions are sublime...and yes the tribal Lion King style anthemic OYH is phenomenal!

Oooh Andre! See, another missed one! Andre's recent resurgence could have started as a consequence of Madonna! Dang it! She could have had early Nicki Minaj on board! Maybe Beyoncé! That'd be very interesting! B and M! Dang it now i want those biscuits with the smiley faces on them! Curse my two fave ladies in music having initials of a snack no longer in the UK

I agree elasticlove, Cee Lo is a Boss!! That man can do no wrong!

Yeah, all those genres and sounds have been really shockingly unexplored by Madonna! Perhaps she can address those with the next worldy/cultural project to a degree! Imagine the havoc the Demolition Crew would create if they approached those genres!! Wow!

I rewatched Beyoncé at the 49th Grammy Awards, her little tribute to all those powerful African American superstars was so cute! I'd love Bee and M to perform together as they are two of the few truly 150% performers left!

Or perhaps a similar tribute for stars of the 80s/pop royalty by Britney and Kylie at the Grammy's before Madonna comes out like Tina did and they all sing/dance together
