3DS Questions

Hi all, it's been many years since I played a Nintendo, and I'm thinking of buying a 3DS.

I just have a few questions:

Can you buy SNES classics to play on the 3DS?

Is the 3DS Touchscreen?

Do you have a friends list like the PS3 where you can see what others are playing and if they are online?

Will YouTube videos play on the 3DS?

Is it a HD screen?

I'm used to Playstations so I'm clueless when it comes to other consoles. Thanks.

SNES games are bound to hit the e-shop at somepoint, aren't they?

Thanks. As a PS fanboy, do you think the 3DS is a good move?

Dissapointed you can't view Youtube videos on the 3DS.

You cannot play any SNES Classics, but you can get some GBA games such as Yoshi's Island, which is a remake of a SNES game. There are also some NES games.

The bottom screen of the 3DS is touchscreen, just like the DS

There is a friends list, yes

I'm not actually sure if YouTube videos will play or not.

No, the screen is not HD as far as I'm aware, but it's much better than the DS and looks almost as good as the Wii.

Thanks guys.

Hows do points/credit to spend in the e-store work?

I see on ebay you can buy 250 points for 99p? Is this like, £2.50 to spend in the store?

I've bought a few games from the e-shop and they've all been 'cash' I think the points thing is for the Wii.

I'd love to recommend the 3DS as it's a great wee handheld but the range of games available is awful. I haven't bought a 3DS retail game in 4 months and I only bought the system in January.

Same here i would be nice to recommend it but there is a lack of decent games (I'm sure people are already ready to jump on me for that but what if i don't like like mario and zelda) aside from Kid icuras and Resident Evil Revelations

I recently sold my 3DS, with plans to by an XL in october when Professor Layton is relased and hopefully by then a few decents will of come out and they'll be cheap, i've got an eye on Treahtrythem (or however its spelt)

I have already asked posted this in 3DS XL thread but I have so far got no response so I thought that I would try in this 3DS thread.

I currently have an aqua blue 3DS which I will be giving to my sister once I get my blue/back 3DS XL and I have done a system data transfer.

As the 3DS XL does not come with a mains charger I will need to keep mine.

My sister currently has a white DS Lite which has the GBA slot.

Will here DS Lite main charger work with the original aqua blue 3DS?

No. The DS Lite has a different connector. A DSi charger will work.

Thank you christy for taking time to reply.

So I will have to buy a brand new AC adaptor for my 3DS XL and give my sister my current 3DS AC adaptor when I give her my current aqua blue 3DS.

I was going to buy the 3DS XL charging cradle and AC adaptor but it is not available untill 24/08/12.

Offical charging cradle and AC adaptor
http://www.play.com/Games/DS/4-/3336...ngDetails.html

So I will have to buy either the Offical 3DS XL AC adaptor or a 3rd party AC adaptor.

Offical Nintendo AC adaptor
http://www.play.com/Games/DS/4-/3336...ngDetails.html

Snake Byte AC Adapter
http://www.snakebyte-europe.com/en/c...s/universalac/

Is there any benefit to buying the charging cradle and AC adaptor as a posted to just buying an AC adaptor?

Only the convenience of being able to drop the 3DSXL onto the base I'd have thought.

On You Tube there is a video called 3DS Video Series: acsseseries. I would link to it but I am on my iPad and am unable to.

Towards the end of the video the man talks about the cradle and says that he and his mate both updated there 3DS aulthought he did not recored it.

One did the update with out the cradle and the man in the video did the update with his 3DS on the cradle as it was charging and said that it was quicker and only took about 1 minute 29 seconds.

Has anyone else experienced quicker download times when there 3DS is conected to the cradle?

Just a few more questions:

Like PSN, you have to register an account and a username - do you have to do this with the 3DS?

Is a 2GB card big enough if you're not buying full 3DS games? I'd probably only pay for classic games.

How do you buy games from the store via the console? Can you pay for them by card? Minimum spend?

Thanks

No, you get a "friend code" assigned by the console.

Probably, I'll let somebody who downloads loads of classic games confirm this!

Through the eShop, you can pay by card, you can pay just the amount for the game you're purchasing.

If you click share and mail to you can copy the link as I just did on my iPad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAGodh3E9nE

Oh really? So no minimum spend. That's good.
Thanks

Theatrhythm.

OK, if you don't like Mario, that means the new Paper Mario game won't interest you and neither will New Super Mario Bros 2. Are you a Pokemon fan? Pokemon Conquest came out recently (it's completely different to previous titles as it's a crossover with a franchise called Nobunaga's Ambition, which hasn't ever been released here before) and Pokemon Black and White 2 is out soon for the original DS.

Few more questions...

Is a 2GB card big enough? I may be downloading classic games and demo's so would this be too small?

If I download games onto the SD card, and then decide to buy a bigger card, can you just re-download the games from the Nintendo store without re-paying?

Anyone?

Do you also get any free games when buying a standard 3DS?
