Windows 7 folder view
How do you set the view option for a single folder in Windows 7? If I use the "Change your view" drop-down, or right click and change the view option it affects the view for ALL folders. I just want to change it for one folder.
What am I missing? EDIT - figured it out. No customize option when viewing a folder through the libraries function. Navigated to it via C drive, users and I get the option to customize a single folder. |

Goes to show how important info is. You never even mentioned libraries in your initial post!!!

I would be most grateful if you would explain exactly how to change the view for all folders. I tried hard to do that and concluded that it was impossible.

Still not quite right. This is what the control panel main screen looks like:
http://i46.tinypic.com/1fyg7m.png Folder Options is actually found on the Tools menu, but surely doing it there is going to change all folders to look like the Control Panel main screen ![]() Seems to make more sense to do it from Windows Explorer, where you can select the folder you want to base on. Sorry if I'm not getting this

Ah I see. The OP said he had a way of ensuring all folders displayed how he wanted, or at least made me hope there was a way to make all folders show full details. The methods being discussed only allow 'folders of this type' to be set, which it seems to me is just an excuse for when it doesn't work.
Thanks anyway I picked up a few tips. |
