'Cannot proceed, your telephone dialing code is invalid'
Just tried to register a domain name and both times I've been told my dialing code is invalid, when it's NOT.
![]() Stupid software won't accept legitimate 0560 BT landline codes. And it won't accept mobiles alone.I'm now on my third domain registration website, but I'm not holding out much hope. Pathetic. |

It might well be a BT issued number, but 056 is the prefix for VoIP numbers which are very easy to obtain free of charge when signing up with a VoIP provider.
I'd bet that's why you can't use it. |

Maybe it wants the international prefix. That would make sense if the hosting or the domain registration company is outside the UK. To specify a UK number with the international prefix: 0044 followed by the area code without the 0 prefix followed by the local number
So in your case try: 0044560 followed by the local number I'm not saying this is certain to work, only that it's worth a try. |

If they specifically ask for a fixed line phone number then VOIP numbers should be rejected, as they aren't fixed lines.

It was one American web site and one UK site. I know I could just move onto the next but it's so annoying when you've spent time completing the form, only to abandon it (twice) because of something ridiculous like this.
![]() Anyhow, good news. I found this site: http://fast-name.com/ Easy process and they accept all numbers. Cheap domains too. ![]() Thanks for your input - I just wanted to let off steam.
