Does your PS3 ever crash?
I turned mine on this afternoon and it froze on the background, and then tried loading up the XMB but really really slowly and stuttery.
I powered off and back on and all was ok. Was this just a blip? It's a fairly new console. Thanks |

Never had it crash when browsing the XMB, only had shoddy games make it freeze.

Yes, it crashes sometimes on Fifa when starting a ranked match then when I hold the PS button and quit the game, the console beeps twice then re-starts itself.

Yeah it does. Crashes are few and far between but it does happen.

On occasion, nothing specific and pretty rare.

Only crashes Ive had are fallout 3, fallout NV and Skyrim. Skyrim is fine for me now its patched.
Still get locks ups in fallouts(when save file gets big), unless I save and reload regularly. |

yes it does crash, I have had mine for two years - it is the PS3 slimline model, and it is a fairly reliable box, you get the odd game that crashes and its always an idea to keep your discs jam/honey/marmalade/oil free otherwise you will knacker your laser which can cause you some real grief.
The main one that loves to kill my station is 4OD, watch a programme on 4OD and when it hits the advert break it will play the adverts and then try and return to the programme - I would say 85% of the time this leads to a lock up requiring a full system hard power down and reboot. I-player etc are all fine but 4OD does this almost without fail. Skyrim was Jittery at first so I heard but patches have fixed it, I never had a problem with it though and I had it on release. you also get the odd crash on MW3 at times but still its fairly reliable. I have been quite lucky with my station though, my mate had one on release night - the big old job that had PS2 emulation etc. When was that 4-5 years back something like that - he is now on PS3 number 7 as they have all stopped reading discs after a while, he has dropped lucky on some within 12 months and others he has just binned or passed on to me. I have managed to get a couple of the fattys going again and gave them to a mate and my dad to use as my mate didnt want them back. Don't be fooled that the slim is any better either - it aint he has had about 4-5 of them now and they all die the same way ( he does smoke very heavily which may have something to do with it but non the less) Maybe this reported super slim one will be good but 12 months later they will release the PS4 no doubt. Remember the PS1/2 and then the Slim versions arrived just before they sacked the systems off. |

Only when it was lying down and playing worms
for some reason. My PS3 hates lying down, prefer to stand up.

Mine crashes on occasion, it's only really cause for concern if it starts crashing very regularly, when doing the same particular thing.
