Do you ever wonder if Brendan wishes he picked someone easier, someone who he wouldn't of fall for and taken his shit?

I think he would think about it, but realise that the good moments make all the bad ones worth it

I don't think he wishes, but I think it's probably something he thinks about a lot. Like thinks, why does he put up with Ste's attitude towards him and fight so hard to get through to him when he could find someone else, no problem, then realising he doesn't want anybody else anyway and it'd probably be the hardest thing in the world, having to walk away from him. Impossible, even.

Aw, I love this Radio. I'm sure he's regretted hiring Ste and getting to know him lots of times. Life would have been simpler. He could of just continued with finding a boy and messing with him, feeling only the bare minimum.

But I'm sure he's had moments where he's happier than he's ever been.

aww yeah i don't think he'd wish he'd picked someone easier caused i don't think he'd ever wish away all the good times he's had with ste and the way he feels about him but i think he realises how easy it would have been had he carried on the way he lived.

Oh I'm sure he's wished he'd never hired/fallen for Ste many times. But he did. Muahahahahahaha.

Plus, like, he does hate himself and his sexuality a little less these days, so he can't deny it was good for his own mental health.

Yeah I don't think he'd ever wish it cos I don't think it's something he'd ever regret, meeting Ste and becoming involved with him like that because he wanted Ste - probably more than he's ever wanted anyone, but I think he wonders why it isn't so easy to .. I dunno, get along like he did before with all the randoms and the no-names who he didn't care about.

But then you know, cos it's Ste, innit. Ste's special.

Aw. I love that line so much. That whole conversation, really. And it's the first time we ever saw Brendan really wanting to give up the relationship.

Yh it think it's cause ste's special and different to the others that's one of the reasons he fell in love with him.

And like, he wishes it never happened cause he could have saved himself the heartache and all the trouble it's caused, but he would never want those good time, as rare as they were, to turn into nothing

But then with the way Ste is now, you've got to wonder whether he wishes it all never happened. But then, it did turn him into a much stronger person and without Brendan, how long would it of been until he figured out his sexuality?

Or to be honest, not really wanting to.

Yeah, you could tell from the way he totally broke when he found out Rae was pregnant that he didn't want to - at all, but he had to for the baby's sake, and for Ste's sake.

His resolve may not have lasted very long but dammit he tried.


ETA: Oh Ste totally wishes it had never happened. I'm in no doubt about that.

But I think that's just part of his anger and hurt that he aims towards Brendan, really.

I think maybe now he's in the mindset where he wishes it had never happened (or at least a few weeks ago, pre hug.) He probably thinks he eventually would have realised he was gay anyway. I think he was just so angry and sad that he wished Brendan had never been a part of his life. But that will change, I'm sure.

I think unless he'd had some other experience similar to Brendan that he would have just carried on with girls. Had more kids. I don't think he would have say fallen for Doug or anything.

I think he wanted to give it up because he realised he was getting in too deep, whereas before it was a bit more of a game. But of course he couldn't bear the thought of life without him.
