[Game] The X Factor: Back To Basics - Live Show 1
Hello and welcome back to The X Factor: Back To Basics!
It's been a while since we had a show of Back To Basics because of deadlines not being met and things like that, but we're back on track now and ready for the first live show.Last time on Back To Basics, the judges whittled their 8 acts down to only 3 after hearing what the rest of the panel had to say about their acts. They have each picked 3 acts they think they could win the show with, but first they'll have to make it through 9 weeks of live shows, this being the first! Today, the top 12 will sing for the public vote for the first time. Each contestant will perform one song, and after all 12 acts have performed the lines will open and you, the DS public, will be able to save your favourites from the horrible sing-off that the bottom 2 acts will have to compete in. After the bottom 2 is revealed, the 2 acts in there must perform a second song in order to get the judges' favour, as the panel will have the deciding vote in which one of these bottom 2 acts makes it through and which one does not. In the event of a 2-2 split vote, we will revert to the earlier public vote, also known as a deadlock-situation. Is that all clear ladies and gentlemen? All right, give a warm welcome to the four judges of Back To Basics. Theme tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKq29mRkEHo ![]() Soppyfan and the GIRLS Amelia Lily Sophie Habibis Stacey Solomon pothuthic and the OVERS Goldie Cheung Sami Brookes Wagner Vister and the BOYS Leon Jackson Marcus Collins Matt Cardle and Kuda_Kunaka's temporary replacement: jackel1234 with the GROUPS Kandy Rain Miss Frank The Risk The theme is: 'UK Number Ones', so expect plenty of mainstream songs! There's hardly anybody who doesn't know all of these songs! Judges, are you all here and ready to roll? |

All right, both pothuthic and Vister seem to be offline, so I guess they'll have to catch up later as we're starting right now!
Up first is one of Vister's boys, and he's about to tackle a song by former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole. Please give it up for Leon Jackson singing 'Call My Name'! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYT6rbxNn30 |

Not what I expected tonight tbh, I didn't get the choice tonight myself, it's a great song by Cheryl but I don't think it really suits you, but hey wait Til Wagner and Goldies :O |

Leon Jackson
Welcome to the live shows Leon, I think is it quite a challenge to go up first. I 'm not sure if that was the right song choice for you. There are a few hits and some songs that I think would've done you much better. There is a long way to go but I think you're gonna need the votes. |

Also, constructive criticism please. At least 2 lines of text should be enough.

Vister... I'm trying to figure out what you were thinking when you gave Leon this song. The song doesn't suit his vocals at all. Leon should be singing swing, jazz and big band numbers. I mean if this was an acoustic version of the song it would've suited him slightly more but it still wouldn't of worked. Sorry but this is not a good start for the boys.

Some painful comments for Leon and his mentor, will they avoid the bottom 2 tonight?
Up next we have one of the groups, originally mentored by Kuda_Kunaka, but because he's having a great time somewhere in Northern Ireland at a camping at the moment our independent judge jackel1234 has kindly agreed to step in for him. Will that work to the advantage of the groups? Let's find out while Miss Frank sing Only Girl (In The World) by Rihanna! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pa14VNsdSYM |

MISS FRANK
Hey girls! Welcome to the lives! That was a really good choice, you proved to everyone who was who there! I think you have a bright future ahead of you like that! I thought your mentor picked a great song which fitted your range! WELL DONE! |

Great choice by Kuda tonight. I really like how it showed what style you girls are trying to aim for and in a little way you sort of remind me of Stooshe. If I had to criticise anything I would just say that I would like to hear some harmonies in your songs but that was still a fantastic first choice.

Soppyfan just PMed me that something has come up for him, but I have his comments so I will post them for him.
Anyway, the next act is the first of Soppyfan's girls. After the two uptempo songs we've had, let's change the pace with a nice slow song shall we? Here's Stacey Solomon singing 'Songbird' by Eva Cassidy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJFmM2gGhqY |

Miss Frank
Hey girls, that was a very good choice of song. You've been apart of a few games as of late, but I think it's always good to see you perform. I reckon there is a lot of improvement that can be done and I'm sure you'll be back next week. Stacey Solomon Alright my girl, that was a very beautiful performance, I knew I saw something special when I gave you that song. Your voice and your personality mix so well together, well done my girl. Hope to see you back again. |

This was a brilliant choice by Soppyfan and I'm so happy you sang that song as it one of my personal favourites. I believe it show a great soft side to your vocal ability which is great to see but personally I would love to see you belt out a song next week just to show off your powerhouse vocals.

Well he can catch up later as well in that case, it seems it's just the two of us then.
![]() The next act is one of Poth's crazy overs. Please fasten your seat belts, here's WAGNER singing 'My Life Would Suck Without You' by Kelly Clarkson ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRM70Jw7F4M Staging:

I have no words for this, the song doesn't suit you at all Wagner and it makes me want to scream because you've got a pretty good tenor voice.... but with all the staging and with you dressed as a school girl with Barlow on stage with you and launching him off stage... its just bonkers and good... Vocally average, really want to hear you do an operatic ballad sometime in the contest though

Soppyfan's comment
Wagner
Never in my judging or hosting career would I have expected you to sing that one. It was undeniably entertaining but it wasn't for the right reasons, if you're back here, it'll be a miracle. Thank you for making my day though, LOL.
