Knots Landing is worst import
I am horrified at the Broadcast magazine executives voting Knots Landing as one of the ten worst ever US imports. How ridiculous. In its time it was well made, good scripts, good acting, emmy nominated performance by Michele Lee. I would put it down as one of the 10 best
Can you compare it with Extreme Makeover, Jerry Springer and the Anna Nicole Show - or even Bold and Beautiful? Course not. Complete nonsense list and annoying it got into the newspapers! |

Your title is misleading.
"Baywatch" won the title. G |

Out of all the night time soaps, Knots Landing was actually considered one of the best by TV critics, in terms of both acting and scripting .. where as Dallas and Dynasty got more and more outraegous as they attempted to stem their falling ratings (Bobby in the shower on Dallas, Wedding Massacre on Dynasty, UFO on Colby's), Knots Landing actually stayed pretty grounded and never went to OTT, hence why it probably out lasted them all, being the last of the 80's night time soaps (Dallas, Dynasty, Falcon Crest, The Colby's) to come off the air in 1993. |

Yeah it was a long time ago, but she insisted she'd been abducted and (funnily enough) they all thought she was a bit of a loon!

I never saw Knots Landing but i have never heard many bad things, if anything said about it.
The Bold and the Beautiful is definitely a great soap so i have no idea why that is on the list! Plus, its the most watched soap in the world so that goes even more to show that this list is stupid! |

How odd, actually the makers of 6ft Under were KL fans and the witer of American Beauty who was inspired by the cul-de-sac
The list of TOP actually says Most Influential imports and Dallas was one of the biggest influences on television far surpassing Knots Landing. I enjoyed Knots Landing, I thought it was great but preferring the saga like format of Dallas. Dallas was amazing TV for the first 6 seasons but then lost its way. |

One of the best things about Knots Landing was the ever changing shapes of Val's and Karen's noses! It was even more noticeable when they'd have flash backs!

The one universal thing about all these american shows ,is that whatever happens they always have that little funny bit at the end.By the way Isn,t itv or bbc showing a Dallas reunion over Christmas and New Year.

I totally agree with everyone on here. Knots Landing was a great show. I actually happened to watch and like the majority of the shows listed in the worst section. Knots Landing, Falcon Crest, Baywatch and I loved The Bold and the Beautiful, so what does that say about me? I guess we all just have different tastes.
In my opinion there is nothing quite like the US prime time soaps. They are exciting, well written, dramatic and are completely outraegeous. One thing I never understood though is the way Dallas, Dynasty, Knots Landing, Falcon Crest were all aired in the UK and made huge here during the 80's, yet all of the 90's US prime time soaps were basically ignored here and networks didn't pick them up for some reason? Anyone know why? Melrose Place for example ran from 1992-1999, was a huge hit all over the world. Basically a 90's Dallas starring Heather Locklear, yet it was never taken on by the BBC like the rest were???

Well the wost US import had to be Santa Barbara....
Knots Landing was one of the best US shows we had - The reason why it was so good a lot of it was improvised the actors were given the situation and left to act. I think thats what made it so good |
