There is no doubt in my mind that Nathan had by far the best voice and physical presence. I think that Roger is probably the chosen one, but his voice is weaker. Of the others, I don't like David, and Ben and Rory are a bit weedy, to be honest. But I do think that Nathan has had a lucky escape, and he will undoubtedly go on to other and probably greater things with less hide-bound and old-fashioned producers. I think it would be absolutely hilarious if ALW's arena tour went the way of the Voice tour, and nobody bought tickets. |

I dont know ALW personally so I am only basing on what I see on teli .I think his a nasty odd little man who has odd behaviour traits and very odd body and hand movements
He uses his fists to point and its almost like he has been told and schooled to stop pointing with his finger . He use to use the middle finger to point a few years back too , now its two fists On a few shows he has shown his rude and controlling , his temper simmers when things are not what he wants and not going his way .He controls it , barely Last night he forgot , he pointed rudely forgetting to tuck the offending finger into his fists and lost hs temper . I dont know his reason or if he was right in what he was saying but either way it belonged behind the scenes and not on the stage . There is one saving grace on this show , at least the judges dont all bow to the Lord like on the BBC shows, it nauseated me |

Diamond doll. I totally agree with your comments. This forum has become a hate campaign about ALW. He is not some boyband mentor for goodness sake. He has had successful shows all over the world. Do you think he is going to be upset by the personal remarks on here.
I am new to DS forum , but have read it for a long time. The rantings on here because the person THEY rated the best is out, is verging on hysteria. Those of us who have watched the BBC programmes realise that ALW gets who he wants in the end. The only exception being Jodie for Nancy. However the GBP realised Jodie was good. The GBP on Superstar have NOT voted for Nathan or he would not have been in the bottom two. Not everyone thinks he was right for Jesus and those of you who do will just have to accept this fact, without all this personal abuse. Auditions in show business are cruel things. One is picked and the others told to go. Thats it. No time for "agonising" . The losers just say thanks and go off to another one. Thats show business. Why ALW felt the need to do this on ITV is beyond me. His shows will pull in the crowds- be it tourists in London or us. At the end of all of this Nathan has been shown up to be a petulant young man. As has been said, he has not done himself any favours with future producers . He was not good enough for the Voice( god what a terrible show) so second best would not be good enough for ALW- even if he does manipulate the results. Tim Rice has the last say in all of this whatever anyone else thinks. You are all forgetting about the thousands of show people who tread the boards daily and face rejection. What would it be like working with someone like Nathan. Anyway I will be ready after tonights show to read the personal abuse again for the contestants and ALW. Disgraceful comments- lispy, going bald, too small, big ears. Love to see some of the photos of the people making these remarks. glass houses anyone? |

IMO the issue of Nathan's talent (or not) is in a sense irrelevant. As is what he did or didn't tweet.
The fact is ALW behaved disgracefully and unprofessionally. http://www.whatsonstage.com/blog/the...Tweetgate.html Extract Whatever the reason though, this show wanted Nathan off and it was really evident from minute one. Yeah he is cocky - and yep his tweets to the likes of Colleen Nolan saying "Andrew doesn't like me" are needy and unprofessional but watching him being attacked like that was disgraceful. He hadn't killed anybody, after all. Says it all, really. |

![]() You speak a lot of sense too. What put me off Nathan was that ridiculous u-tube 'feel sorry for me' nonsense that he had the cheek to post. Big Brother has a lot to answer for in the RTV stakes but ridiculing a master craftsman who naturally is a perfectionist, nauseates me. ALW is in recovery from prostate cancer (and all credit to him for raising public awareness of this scourge) yet I read here a disgusting comment about his impotence. ![]() I know I shouldn't get angry about such ignorance and manage to laugh most of the time but when people think that they know better than someone of the stature of ALW it seriously pisses me off. The real star of Jesus Christ Superstar is the musical itself and not some upstart who wants to be famous.

Well that is your opinion and you speak like someone who actually knows him personally.
![]() Going through the discussion threads a lot of people have noticed that ALW is cunning and manipulative and think he/the judging panel has been unneccessarily nasty to Nathan, yes he may be somewhat big headed but so what. do they want a mouse? ALW always says what gets him what he wants and in this instance I think he will be making a mistake. Just My opinion of course

Definitely going to stand up to ALW in this, in spite of the fact that it was uncomfortable viewing.
All we as the audience see is what happens on air. We see nothing of the week's rehearsals and the general attitude and behaviour of the guys. Nathan is a good looking guy with a great voice, but he is a cocky so and so, and I sense that he was a nightmare backstage. ALW was right when he said that in an arena tour, you need a TEAM and not one egomaniac making everyone's lives a misery. If you see that coming with bells on, you get rid and you get rid swiftly, and thats exactly what he did last night. He disapatched an egomaniacal pretty boy, who thought he had it in the bag. Thats what being the boss is all about, making these tough and swift decisions for the better good of the overall show. I think the winner now is Ben... its his for the taking. |

That's not the way it came across to me ![]() All the other guys in the show have Twitter accounts, so not sure why Nathan was singled out for criticism .... in this game contestants use any tool they can to catch votes. Rather like XF taking finalists to do a gig in their home town. |

I'd certainly agree with that, but to be fair, the original pic was posted well before the show actually aired. It's because old people like ALW don't understand how young people communicate these days.

Indeed, and I'm sure he was absolutely brilliant in the Lion King - he's got the look (no, I DON'T mean because he is black, I mean physicality!), and the songs would probably suit him better. I don't see him as Jesus. Unfortunately for me, the only person I COULD see as Jesus was manipulated out of the show last night.

Well, I'm old, and I don't feel the need to tell everyone my every thought, so it's hard to appreciate just how ingrained tweeting is with younger people. Having followed Lord Sugar for a while, though, I think once you're hooked on Twitter, it's an all or nothing thing!

I think he was using whatever means possible to get his fans to vote for him. Let's face it by that stage he knew that any floating voters would have abandoned him due to the editing and personal attacks that had just aired. ALW has really shown himself up to be spiteful and manipulative. Getting rid of the only rock tenor in the group has to be a questionable decision surely ? Who wants to see Jesus Christ Popstar or Jesus Christ Soul Singer ? Or even worse Jesus Christ Cheesefest Overactor ? The only one left who might make a decent stab of it is Ben. |

David had a contest going on as well..nothing said about that. They ALL tweet-as does ALW (or someone does it for him) Also, ALW had an op for his cancer 3 years ago. I know it's 5 years until you can say your clear but I don't see the relevence of why you feel the need to keep bringing it up? Yes, someone -1 person made a comment about impotence-but you've already dealt with that. ALW behaved unprofessionally last night-people in the business thought so and have said so publicly. I also have family in the business who feel the same. BTW, have not heard ANY bad gossip about Nathan at all from said folks. Have heard plenty about ALW-He's a massive gossip for one and for another, he can be quite a needy chap himself. Think he's an abject hypocrite tbh., |

He was off the show. WTF wouldn't he carry on with behaviour that is perfectly normal and that everyone else is doing?!?

My objections to ALW's behaviour last night aren't just based on Nathan being the only rock tenor and an excellent one.
Andrew Lloyd Webber is supposed to be the immensely experienced professional. His behaviour wasn't, professional at all last night. Whoever, he had treated like that, I'd have sympathy for. It's not an attack,on ALW, to question his behaviour. If someone can't be wrong because he's so successful, we're in dodgy territory. I'm not thinking, " Nathan versus ALW". I'm thinking, to paraphrase Jane Austen, " Badly done, Emma...badly done" -" Badly done, Andrew...". |
