No talking, I didn't know that.
I recently saw Rock of Ages with my husband and liked it, him more than me as he knew the songs and bands etc. I'm hoping to get him tickets to this for his birthday as I think he'll like it.

He's following the show and does not mind any of the finalists performing it. We've seen other ALW musicals and I trust he knows what he's doing..

I hope ALW knows what he's doing. They tried a 'thoroughly modern JCS' with technology etc. on Broadway (Mar - Jul 1st) and it folded for lack of bums on seats. Don't know who's going to be directing this show but I hope they've all had a fit of retro and gone back to basics.

I also hope we get some of the songs from the show. I'm another who saw it in the Palace with Paul Nicholas as Jesus. So yes, a bland, young "boy band" type of singer can pull the role off. Moyles and Minchin are the stars, Mel C too ofcourse, so someone who can sing competently while not upstaging the rest of the case would be perfect.

I wonder if one of the losing finalists (of 11, not necessarily the 3 remaining tomorrow) will be given the understudy?

Charlie, I watched a youtube clip of Ted Neeley performing in the 25th Anniversary stage show in Canada (I think). He is in his 60s now and wasn't well at the time, but his performance is so credible and anguished and bloody believable, it blows my mind every time I watch it.

My bad, it was in New York - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXJJbMrvOts

Good evening all

I'd like to see Rory or Roger go through to the final.....maybe Ben if he can sing in tune.

Wonderful vid - thanks for posting. Have got tears in my eyes.... it's hard to reconcile the march of time on the young man who was in the original 1973 film with this amaziing delivery of Gethsemane by a man grown older, with so much feeling and life experience in this rendition. Thanks

Yeah, what was up with him last night? I know they say it sounds different in the studio than it does at home, which I can imagine, but I still can't get my head around how someone can sound off-key/flat/whatever when listening through my tv set and yet sound "pitch perfect" to the live audience.

Rory seems to have been the only one who has sounded consistently good both at home and live in the studio. On that basis alone, if I were to vote (and I am not), he would have my support.

You're welcome, Lani. And as someone else who was rocking away to JCS in the 70s, it is heartening to see us get even better with age.

If they are going to be fair they should stick Rory or David on first

going first is an advantage if the voting is open from the start

Maybe we're all so confused we don't know what we're doing anymore! It's usual on these shows that you don't start voting until after the last person has sung.... isn't it?

II undertand it correctlty the lines open after the first person has performed and close 10 mins after the last one has performed

And after ALW's rant last night at Nathan I am hoping for some tactical voting tonight to save Roger and give ALW an awful decision to make in the sing off by way of the overhyped ones

Thanks I think it's wrong though, shouldn't be like that. But then again, I think the whole format's wrong, so...'it is what it is...). I still love it!

Completely forgot we'd have a new thread for tonight's show!

Not long now.

Are they singing two songs tonight?

I will have to rely on you all as my husband is insisting on watching something else. I don't have a favourite so it doesn't really matter
