<It has always been easy to kill off bunged up junkware on IE . >
I am afraid that I do not agree. Windows in general still suffers from the problem, as perceived by millions of users, that it gradually slows down as it ages. Internet Explorer suffered from that but when they put the Tools> manage addons option in, IE was suddenly improved in performance in millions of PCs. Of course IE has at the same time become bloated and cluknky in operation on many sites - I don't really know what it is which is the cause. The general Windows slow to a crawl problem I solve by using Anvir, which means I can chop off 115 prgrams from running when I start the PC and which allows me a 45 seconds boot time. Incidentally while I am on. I posed the question about how one is suppsoled to find thungs out using Chrome and I got a strange reply. I will pose the question at slightly more length. In Opera they use a menu approach which means that when you want to do something but don't know how, you click on menu items and look for clues. In IE, and many other Windows apps, you click on the help button. to find things out. In Chrome there seems to be no method within the software, you have to surf for answers - that seems a bit of a lazy approach by the designers, and a blooming nuisance for users and looks like a way to collect Google members for them to spy on. |
