Happy to give it a try for a couple of episodes but won't worry about dumping it if I don't like it

I'm told it's one of those that gets better with time so may not immediately grab you but definitely worth giving a few episodes. Certainly in the US the ratings went up through the season I think.

C5 will probably pull it, like they keep doing to Zack and Miri...

No they definitely have the rights (they have a deal for the majority of Sony Pictures content), they've been advertising it in press releases since the beginning of the month, they're just screwing around..

Seen half of the first season already. Really enjoyed it - will be glad to see it all again, and to finish it off.

It's very similar in tone to The Dark Knight trilogy but then it does share the same writer Jonathan Nolan. Channel 5 must have real confident slotting in the CSI slot usually held by CSI: Miami.

Person of Interest also took over CSI's slot on CBS. Not too surprised the same has happened with Miami on five now that one has been axed and the other is coming back. Better to get off to a consistent start with POI, IMO.

Looking forward to this. Love Michael Emerson and it's been getting great reviews over in the States. Plus it's already got a Season 2 on the way. I hate getting into a show only for it to be axed after the first season.

That's very true. My interest dipped mid series as it seemed very samey, but it finished quite strongly, and I'll definately be back for season two

I stuck with this despite finding the dialogue between the 2 central characters a bit odd at first, was hooked by ep 10 and watched the 2nd half of the season in 3 days. Can't wait for S2

Based on the "Film Premiers" thread I think it's been scheduled then pulled at least two, maybe three times already. They were also supposed to start showing the second half of S1 of "The Lying Game" last week but I understand that even that's been put back to September now Then no-one will watch it and they'll wonder why

Yes, my comment was saying that Channel 5's press info isn't entirely reliable as Zack and Miri was promoted as airing during July, but despite several attempts it's been pulled at least twice and pushed back to next month. Although it's possible to confirm it looking at how long they have left on CSI as it's been given that timeslot...

Saw a few episodes whilst in US earlier this year, I have to say I found it a little tacky and rushed.

The first half of season 1 is a slow burner...good, but not outstanding.
But, as other posters have said here, the second half of the season is terrific! Stick with it...its well worth it. |

I liked the entire series from the get go. Like any new series, POI has to go through its new born stages. The episodes are good and you can see the potential in it. As the series moves along it just gets better and stronger. It really does find its footing. I'm looking forward to Season two.

I'm a "from the get go" too but didn't get any sense of the season dipping or at any point slowing down. I find the 2 main actors just fascinating to watch in their roles and have recently rewatch the whole season, and will most likely do so again

That trailer was really cool. Channel 5 have really upped their game with graphics, etc.

Watched CBS's extended trailer at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xAK3ueOJxE, looks quite good. Is it a procedural, or is it a serial drama? (or perhaps a cross between the two)

^defn cross between the two - like playing catch with an onion, but after each game you peal off another layer of skin (from the onion, not from yourself)

Different case every week but with a growing story arc or connection between cases, that leads to a gigantic showdown between the baddies and the goodies...
