Ann Mitchell - 'Cora is a Gift'

Ann Mitchell has been interviewed in Inside Soap about her role as Cora Cross. Inside Soap call Cora 'The new Queen of Walford'..for me it's a bit early to say that.

Ann says playing Cora is a gift as there are not many parts for women her age. The 'Ava' storyline will run which I think will be interesting. Ann went on to say that she has been surprised how popular Cora is amongst younger fans.

I think Cora is here to stay...

Cora's alright. And she'll pay the bills for Ann for the next few years.

As far as I'm concerned, though; Ann will always be Dolly

I agree joyofpat...Cora is the natural successor to Peggy/Pat in the Matriarchal stakes...

Me neither. The vast majority of threads on her all appear to be started by the same person...

I dip in and out of EE, and it's always a treat to see Cora. Deep in Ann Mitchell, there will always be more than a hint of Dolly Rawlins, and Cora sometimes channels Essence of Dolly quite clearly. Her first encounter with Rose: "I'm Cora ... and I've got your number ..."

For me:
Cora is the new Peggy/Pat
Zainab is the new Pauline Fowler

I think that Nina and Cora have filled the matriarchal role perfectly. However i would like to see more Zainab and Cora interfering in people's relationships and family, just like Pauline, Pat and Peggy did.

I'd love for Zainab and Cora to be rivals like Pauline and Peggy

the age gap between Zainab and Cora is a bit too big to make them similar to Peggy and Pat. I think Zainab and Denise are more like Pat/Peggy

I said Zainab similar to Pauline Fowler. The Executive Producer before Kirkwood, wanted Zainab as the new Pauline Fowler

If baby Ava did not die, do you think it will be an opputunity to bring in Ava from the E20 Series 3 ??? A teenager!

But Ava's real name was Olivia Brian. Ava was a fake name because of the fire she caused when she was younger.
