Upgraded to ITB successfully but....
Hi, I have just upgraded my Humax HDR to 1TB and have put the old 320GB HDD in a caddy and connected it to my PC via USB. It is not recognised in my computer, but is visible in Disk Management. I wish to use it as a back up disk. Do I need to re-format and do I do this with using Windows 7 please?

You either need to repartition the disc and format it in a windows compatible format (ntfs). Or install a EXT2/3 Linux driver that will read the disc in windows.
http://www.ext2fsd.com/?page_id=16 If you do the latter, you can still replay the existing recordings and use it as a archive drive by connecting it to one of the usb ports on the Foxsat. If you still want to reformat the easiest way to delete the existing partitions, create a new one and format is the free version of Easeus Partition Manager. http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm |
