Actually, that is bloody brilliant. That should be the new set of opening titles to use from the debut of the new companion.

They should still use the current 2010-11 title sequence while Amy and Rory are still around of course.

They're good but what we wanna see is a merging of all the sequences really! One big mash-up!

WOW! I've seen plenty of fan based title sequences, and that is definitely the best! To be expected though, if you read the description - turns out it was made by a motion graphics pro.

Will this do? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQb-yRE7mfo

EDIT: Includes CLEAN versions of the 2005, 2008 and 2010 titles - the credits are absent! Is that a DVD extra or something?

Wow! I felt like I was just about to watch an episode, then. I was just settling back on my cushions and feeling round for my choccies.

What a pretty girl Jenna-Louise is. I'm really looking forward to seeing her as companion.

That is utterly gorgeous.

Seriously if we get something like that during Jenna-Louise Coleman's time on the show, I will be pleased.

It was nice but not overly keen on their faces appearing... Seems wrong in some way

I think this is a lovely nod back to the classic era of the show... Doctors 2-7 all had their faces feature in the titles.

Love this. It's how the titles should look in my opinion, instead of the mess we have. Good job the rest of the show makes up for it.

How are they a mess? The only difference really is the face not appearing, do we really need this in the current day? Yes they did it in the past but then again the show was different to what it is now.

Fair enough, let me explain. I don't like the current vortex. Looks more like a smoke ring, with some naff lightning. Why try and fix something when it's not broke. I realise the vortex was different in the old days of Who, but the special effects were not upto todays standards. The music I can just about stand, apart from that horrible piece at the start. To be honest, the whole of the title sequence looks like it was done on a ZX81. I am not bothered about the face. I didn't really like that, in the old days. Of course, this is all my opinion. As I said, I have nothing against the programme itself or Matt Smith etc. I just think, more of an effort could have been made with the titles.

Actually, Doctor Who is unusual in not showing the faces of the actors - the only other major examples I can think of are the three main soaps (too many cast members), the Star Trek franchise, and Stargate SG-1.

And SG-1 did season 6 onwards

I've always preferred the title sequences that feature the Doctor's face. I think the Youtube video discussed above shows that they can be incorporated very successfully into a modern looking set of titles.
