Love that last line of your post, very true though, EE needs a big hitter in charge.
If the reveal fails to hit at least nine mill then the BBC will be disappointed. Anyway, I think the public are growing tired with soaps. Even on my beloved Corrie, the storylines are growing increasingly repetitive and unoriginal. There's simply too many episodes each week to maintain the quality needed to sustain big audiences. These declining ratings are a sign of the times. |

If only Graham Norton had been on...
![]() Seriously, that is one hell of a line up. Would be tragic if only 2.5m watch and it gets beat by MOTD... Also, I don't believe in making celebrities out of our athletes. We will end up bigging them up so much and when in Rio they only get bronze medals and fourth places we will be slagging them off. Leave them be and let them have a good rest. Then they can go back to their near private lives and concentrate on their training.......privately. |

The Sharon comeback story is also a bit piss poor. They could have devised something more believable surely?
That said its possible there is a darker reason behind the kidnapping which will play out later, but at first look its too much. |

EE meanwhile failing to make 8 million:
BBC One = 7.19m BBC Three = 733k Total Overnight Audience = 7.923m Thats just not very good I think EE's ratings crisis is being overstated somewhat. Figures should pick up for all the soaps as we head into Autumn and let's not forget that it held up much better than anyone expected on BBC2. |

Yes, another return of Dirty Den would have been very convincing.

Hmm the figures for Monday were slightly underwhelming but I have to disagree about last night's figure being bad. On its own that 7.2m/7.9m looks unspectacular but when you look at the 38.2% share that's one of their highest shares for a while and not far off the magic 40% mark.

EastEnders skews young. How many are now watching on I-Player rather sitting down at the prescribed time. Viewing habits are changing at an amazing pace.
Even my 83 year old Dad doesn't watch tv other than sport at the prescribed time. He sits down with his TV Mag each week & decides what he wants to see & then sets his Sky+. If I ring he is often watching Sky sports at night & he decides what to watch in the afternoon from what he has recorded. If he is able to adapt at his age then surely everyone can. |

Zai Bennett took a risk in scheduling Bad Education at 10pm and it worked. Subsequent weeks will see if the comedy continues to maintain that share in the former EE repeat slot.

All this talk you would think EastEnders was about to get the chop! I've recently started watching again and I must say the quality has improved. Jive the old girl time (Not Lorraine Newman) although you should give her time. Her episodes have only recently started airing. Having said that I expect both Friday Episodes to fall below 7 million.
Great night for Beeb No.2 and that Lewis repeat is what superstar was getting wasn't it? Does anybody know the All day shares. Being a rating nerd I find them most interesting. Ken |

i agree. Also Emmerdale had a lower rating last night then on Monday so it seems less people were watching TV
5.85m, what sort of number is that in ITV's post Olympics, post Jubilee relaunch week? Everyone is back on the "EE in crisis" bandwagon, after it did surprisingly better than expected on BBC2. Now they are finding their voice again, seemingly expecting 9m a night in the mid August wasteland. Where's this "relaunch" obsession come from anyway? It's got the same characters, same set, same theme tune. I doubt the average viewer hasn't the faintest idea the producer has changed, they haven't made a point of publicising it. |

You're the only person thusfar to comment on that lousy rating for Emmerdale.

They have stopped the trailers now aswell No mention of tonights episode so i expect that to fall below 7million Mondays eps should timeshift quite well in the officials and both those eps and Tuesdays is in the top 5 on I player. What did last nights Omnibus get? (if anyone knew it was on) Back to last nights a 38% share isn't bad at all. EDIT-The Murder reveal is tonight and the BEEB didn't even feel the need to mention tonights 7:30pm showing |

Very strong for The Accused, considering the daring subject matter, or were people also interested in what Sean Bean looks like in drag? I must say I have enjoyed most of these dramas in winter, but 5.19 million for a new, hard hitting drama on a hot evening in August is excellent.

SCD will reveal this year's celebs at a red carpet launch on Tuesday 11th September
http://www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/s...ed_carpet_2012 ....and they'll be paired up with their professional dancers on Wednesday 12th September http://www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/s..._premiere_show The premiere show will be transmitted on Saturday 15th September. Given approximately 3 weeks of training, that would suggest the live shows start around 6th October (no surprises there). |

Far more interesting than EastEnders is the 9pm battleground tonight.
- BBC1: Who Do You Think You Are? - BBC2: Vexed - ITV1: Football - England vs Italy - C4: 24 Hours in A&E - C5: Celebrity Big Brother Launch For a warm August night, that is an incredibly competitive line-up. I can see the order as follows: 1. BBC1 2. C5 3. ITV1 4. C4 5. BBC2 I don't think the football will do well because the media don't seem as interested, possibly due to the Olympics, and I genuinely wouldn't be surprised to see a high 4m or low 5m in the overnights for the football. Celebrity Big Brother should average high 4m's, but then again the weather could hit it down to a high 3m along with Who Do You Think You Are, I know they appeal to different demographics, but Celebrity Big Brother tends to bring in an older demographic for the launch. |
