just found the missing episodes of the forthcoming EastEnders mega week, featuring Sharon
Monday 13th - 8pm & 9pm Tuesday - 7:30pm Wednesday - 7:30pm Thursday - 7:30pm Friday - 13th - 8pm & 9pm Personally I think the BBC is playing a dangerous game here, if its rubbish it will kill ratings even further, where as if its good, it should see them increase. If during that week, I start ending my posts with "Get out of my pub!", "hello princess", "you aint my mother" or "duff duff duff" please let know, so I can take a break from the show for a couple of days. ![]() The 7 episodes are written by some of the best EastEnders writers and ones that know the history of the show well. Remember the Murder Reveal also airs this week. The 9:00pm Friday episode is tricky but im not at all surprised Sharons Return is Monday 8:00pm episode |

Corrie Goes to Kenya, is Friday 9pm, EE on Wednesday is 19:30 (it could change, but I dont think it will), ITV is airing a England vs Italy football friendly*, I assume its to see who gets to pay the others debts ![]() * it doesn't say its football, but that would be my guess. just found this Quote:
REALITY SHOW: Peter Andre's Bad Boyfriend Club this is going to be a ratings smash On: ITV2 Date: Wednesday 15th August 2012 (starting in 15 days) Time: 21:00 to 22:00 (1 hour long) Sorry no additional information is currently available ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Excerpt taken from DigiGuide - the world's best TV guide available from http://www.getdigiguide.tv/?p=1&r=132606 Copyright (c) GipsyMedia Limited. ![]() http://www.itv.com/presscentre/press...b/default.html Its an ITV clone of E4s flop "Tool Academy" this just sums up ITV 2 completely. |

Does Sharon even have any connections with anyone in the Square now other than Ian and Phil. Really don't see why they're making a big deal of her return - indeed they might as well just repeat the show from a decade ago rather than just constantly bringing back former "actors" who can't get a job anywhere else.
Meanwhile what is the betting Derek Branning knew Den Watts, when Sharon was younger. Meanwhile should Sharon want a new bloke, both Jack and Max Branning are around. personally I hope she re opens Angies Den, that was always my 2nd favourite Walford Club, and I felt it worked better for her, than the Vic. At this point some hard core EE fans are rubbing my name off the Christmas Card list, for suggesting Sharons isnt best placed in the Vic. Kat and Sharon could be interesting, and they could use the excuse to bring back hottie Vicky. |

Actually think most channels held up nicely last night against the primetime Olympic coverage, which topped 8m between BBC1 & BBC3, with probably at least another million via the Olympic streams.

When it was annouced Sharon trended on Twitter for almost 3 days and everyone on DS and Facebook were raving about it so she's popualr. She didn't come back last year due to being busy with other things. A Decade ago? 2002? There's Hardly anyone that has returned from that Era and only Carol,Bianca,Janine,Kat& Alfiethat have returned are still around(and 2 of them on Breaks) |

I'm guessing not many people are watching TV during the day if we're getting 3-4 million and an almost 40% share.

LOL - you considering five people from an era returning "hardly anyone" shows how reliant EastEnders are on the past.
Kat from 2000 and Alfie from 2005 it's not like they are all from the same Era. I wouldn't say they rely on the past either. There's plenty of new and popular Characters (The Branning lot,Cora,The Masoods for example) |

Also it helps build a sense of familiarity and community, that viewers like from a soap, its no accident that the new Branning clan has worked out, as it was build on previous successful family, unlike the Mon clan who has only ever had one "hit" and that being the questionable Alife. |

Panorama found its usual audience too, despite the smaller lead in. So why not move it to BBC2 permanently, perhaps even increasing it to an hour? Hopefully the Olympics is being used as a dry run.
And I don't know how you can begrudge BBC1 showing half an hour of current affairs a week in one of its worst slots. Even ITV1 still do that. Quote:
If they're happy with an inferior system without the extra channels, then fine. It's their choice.
There are very few homes where satellite dishes are not allowed and most of those can be overcome with different placement. However, I have no issue with platform nuetrality because it's an obvious fact that Freeview has less space and the number of people who are massively, massively interested in sport but don't have some kind of pay service must be very small (possibly just Brekkie). To my mind I always thought it was a bit pointless putting HD on Freeview given the space it takes up, if you were that bothered about HD you'd surely be bothered ernough to upgrade for another platform. My parents don't want HD and probably never will. Just like you had to upgrade your set to get colour. I still think for many people the change from analogue to digital (with widescreen, stereo and much sharper pictures in many areas compared to the ghosting and interference they used to have) is a bigger deal than the change from SD to HD. Quote:
You'll get told off saying things like that! But I agree. It now looks unlikely Ben Ainslie will even get a medal. The Judo hopeful is out. It's now riding on the rowers and if they fail I d think at this rate we'll be lucky to match the performance of Atlanta.
The ratings-related point I do want to make, though, is that's it's ludicrous to suggest ratings are going to go down if Britain don't win gold because the Olympics aren't just one homogenous event and the athletics haven't started yet which for many people are the only reason to watch the Olympics and are far more viewer-friendly, plus there's also the track cycling that hasn't started yet either. And England being pretty rubbish hardly affected the ratings for the Euros, did it? Quote:
The bad... Only two of the 50 most watched shows in C5's history were shows scheduled at 10pm, and neither were dramas. Person of Interest's ratings potential just got severely downgraded with this news as there's no guarantee CSI viewers will stick around. Surely a CSI cross-city double on the previous Saturday would have been a better option, allowing PoI to take 9pm.
The good... CBB launching on a Friday for the first time since it came to C5 will also limit the ratings potential for that but it might be wise as the competition on the Wednesday and Thursday such as the England friendly and the notorious ratings banker that is Peter Kay on C4 looks a fair bit tougher. I don't see why 10pm has to be such a poor slot, C5, like C4 should be trying really, really hard in that slot with the news on BBC1 and ITV and BBC2 only being able to put on half hour shows because of Newsnight. The audience - and specifically the young audience - available at 10pm is enormous, especially in the summer when people watch later in the evening anyway. Both C4 and C5 should put all their good stuff at 10pm, rather than throw stuff out earlier in the evening when BBC1 and ITV are churning out massive mainstream stuff. |

Why are we even talking about this? Last time I checked this was a ratings thread and the same culprits keep banging the EastEnders drum and only seem to pop in here to inform us about EastEnders' storylines...

Could be another huge peak for the 200m Breaststroke final tomorrow, maybe even Adlington sized, 2 Brits both with chances of medals qualifying 1st and 3rd.

I need to stop engaging dan2008 in fan chatter on this thread, but some of what I say is schedule and ratings related. I also felt Brekkie's post needed a come back.

EE beats Em Fm despite demotion to BBC2!
![]() What do you make of that Roscoe?! Panorama found its usual audience too, despite the smaller lead in. So why not move it to BBC2 permanently, perhaps even increasing it to an hour? Hopefully the Olympics is being used as a dry run. I must say I was expecting Emmerdale to beat EE last night but only marginally. In reality, it was a 0.2m win to EE. It did decently on BBC2 - about 1m more than I was expecting. Maybe it'll hold up OK over the next 2 weeks. Corrie did well against the Olympics with both eps over 7m tape-checked.

18:00 - 1.25m (6.4%) 22:00 - 1.30m (6.5%) BBC2 should fare much better in the 6pm slot between Thursday and next Tuesday because that hour will have some cycling finals. |

Also the Time Trial and beginning of the rowing finals tomorrow so tomorrow could be the day things finally kick into action. And though I doubt it'll affect ratings at all the BBC have announced today that Mark Cavendish will be part of their track cycling team at the Velodrome. Thursday to Tuesday 4-7pm is arguably peak time as far as Britain and the Olympics are concerned. |
