Ahh thanks you legend 1.4m, that excludes +1? That's quite a bit on the high side actually!

Great again for the Olympics with a terrific peak. ITV really are feeling the brunt of it as in addition to facing the Olympics they're still facing EE, Holby etc. Love Your Garden has been really consistent so far but felt the brunt of it last night. I'd still say it deserves a recommission though. Trash To Treasure has been in the high-2s most weeks so again was hit hard. Benidorm didn't repeat well. Mixed night for C4. Absolutely awful for Beauty and The Beast but Secrets of the Shoplifter held up well at 9pm.

Also tonked by BBC3 - women's football peaked with 3.9m.

I agree, I think he hopes if he promotes the story lines enough then more peope will tune in. The odd post is fine, but the constant desperate promotion of story lines is just frankly sad.

Channel 5 could have shot themselves in the foot ith CBB going out on a friday and being on so soon after the civillian version. There doesn't seem to be much of a buzz surrounding this series at all.

Shame that POI didn't get a better slot. I've heard very good things about it.

BBC 24 hour Olympic channels doing well. Good decision.

Big Brother got one of the highest 10pm excl +1 ratings of the series at 1.32m. I'm guessing that is 1.4m with +1. I guess not being directly on against an Olympics game helps it in the 10pm slot.

Eastenders - 5.52m (24.3%)
Holby City - 3.74m (15.4%)

Very respectable numbers for the BBC soaps whilst they're on BBC2.

Good start for The Midwives on BBC2. There have been chances to capitalise this week at 9pm with the swimming ending around then.

Story of Olympic ratings so far has really been how viewers have sought out big moments on BBC Three or the specialist channels. To be fair, its been rather quiet in terms of brits on BBC One primetime - I'm sure viewers will congregate on One more over weekend for likes of Ennis and Farah. Saturday could be huge with momentum hopefully building all day with GB medals all over the shop before they take the stage at as the big finale.

Wonder what the ratings for this mornings rowing will be, what with the gold medal and all.

It's not like EE is firing on all cylinders quality-wise anyway, and they'll likely start to ruin Sharon as a character anyway because the writing has been so shite. Ratings on BBC2 holding up well though, but the show is hardly unmissable. Haven't watched it since last week, and I don't think I missed much.

Anyway, Olympic Channels are doing pretty well. Could we see more calls for a BBC Sport Channel even though it's not viable?

I'm pleased The Olympics coverage is doing well on BBC1. I did think that if the Team GB didn't win medals people wouldn't be interested but I've been proved wrong. It's a pity BBC1 can't get these audiences more regularly with other shows, this is where ITV always does well with their I'm A Celebrity/Britain's Got Talent stripped weeks. And unlike The Olympics they're on every year.

It also shows how popular sport can be in primetime and the BBC shouldn't have reduced their sports budget by so much.

I think you should regularly post overnight figures for CBBC and Cbeebies as some shows generally rate over 500k.

Should be good peak on BBC1. Bradley Wiggins wins Gold by huge margin and has now won more Olympic medals than any Brit ever.

BBC Sports Personality of the Year suddenly looks rather predictable this year.

An amazing achievement to win gold in that and also the TdF.
