It would have been fitting if Her Majesty had hot-footed it round to Hampton Court Palace with her sword rather than waiting for the New Years Honours.

The knighthood is as tied on as the SPOTY. One of our greatest sportsmen of all time.

Very respectable numbers for the BBC soaps whilst they're on BBC2.”

if EastEnders can stay over 5 million on BBC 2, then I think it will show that the show does indeed have some core strength.

EastEnders on BBC 3 is preforming well, despite the later timeslot.

fair enough if we had not seen Sharons biological parents before, but since we have im fairly confident it wont happen.

im amazed that rating, is that high.

CSI held up well, and deserves to, the new team is really good, and it all feels fresh and good again.

I heard someone the other day saying the knighthood is not nailed on.

Apparently the requirements have now been changed. However successful a sportsman has been they won't get one in future unless they have done enough charity / community work.

I can't remember who said this but they sounded authoritative and I think it was on R5L.

Regarding you spoiler..It's not true we have seen her Real mother before and that History has been done. Im Not Amazed as i stated months ago there will be No All time lows and Figures would be around 4.5/5m which they are

Anyway, Olympic Channels are doing pretty well. Could we see more calls for a BBC Sport Channel even though it's not viable?”

The Return is written by their best writers and ones that know the history plus some of Kirkwoods writers have gone back with him

Channel 5 could have shot themselves in the foot ith CBB going out on a friday and being on so soon after the civillian version. There doesn't seem to be much of a buzz surrounding this series at all.

Shame that POI didn't get a better slot. I've heard very good things about it.

BBC 24 hour Olympic channels doing well. Good decision.”

HE has a name and if i was promoting EastEnders how many people could i get to tune in? 5 maybe 6 if that and unless they have a BARB box then that would be a total waste of time.

Good figures for the soap thats on BBC2,Holby and the Olympics which i have watched a fair bit and surpised about that.

Is this one of BBC2's Strongest Nights?

the rating im amazed by is Trash to Treasure. Also EastEnders would not be the first soap to pull a retcon on us.

Did that out 7:30 or 8?
Im sorry but it's just not going to happen

I must admit i expected to watch ITV1 alot more during the Olympics but they haven't really shown much decent and BBC2 has had a better line up i think.

Another fail from Channel 5. They would have known that weeks ago. They could have easily extended it one more day 2 weeks ago. BB13 final should be on the Tuesday 14th, not on Monday 13th where EE will get possibly the highest rating of the year.

Well done to the classic Home And Away! some big figures for some old tv!

I've seen worse. I don't think viewers who have followed the series throughout or even partially are going to not bother with the finale just because it clashes with EE for the first half an hour. Casual viewers may tune in for the winner announcement only but this is likely to come close to the key 10pm junction anyway.

And on the Friday, EastEnders is followed by the truly dreadful sitcom In with the Flynns so I guess CBB could pick up strongly in the second half of the hour with EE possibly aiding it if anything.

I'm staggered they are rating so high considering they have ads every five minutes and presenters who are cack handed.

I didn't realise the Men's 100m final is on Sunday at 21.50, a potentially great rating in prospect.

NBC apparntly proving that no matter how much they screw things up

http://www.deadline.com/2012/08/nbc-...edal-suspense/

people will watch there coverage, more fool for the American public.

that said im sure NBC would quite like to have won some "kudos" and "good feeling" from viewers and critics in the run up to the new TV season, I wouldn't bet on them getting that.

Your general point, fair enough, but I doubt EE will rate higher than 10.98 million which it got on January 2nd. EE will be strong, but not that strong

I think they've had far more than seven Coronation Sts in a week. They did six additional late night episodes on top of all the regular episodes one week, involving the the Goodyear woman.

No proper alternative and honestly they blatantly target the female and teenage girl demographic and it's working with flying colors.

Canada's ratings are through the roof (up 74% from Beijing) so it's not like what NBC is doing is the leading model.
