Well it had to be at some point in the next fortnight.

It's going head to head with the Olympics so EastEnders is probably their easiest competition in over two weeks.

That 6.8m peak for Wiggins is astonishing considering its on a weekday afternoon - be interesting to see the share!

So Becky Adlington vs Lottie Friis, the Women's 800m Freestyle Final tomorrow night at 7.45. Surely the biggest peak of the games so far? A moment not to be missed.

Wonder how many were watching on their different types of computers at work, possibly double the number.

It had 567,000 requests.

ITV showing the Community Shield on August 12th - I didn't realise they had obtained the rights.

It's a 1.30pm kick off.

Superb ratings for Sir Wiggo.

It will take something to shift the Corrie diehards, who would probably stay tuned if their house was burning down ("We'll get out when Corrie finishes, only another 5 minutes..."), so I think that competition will keep it sub 10m. Shame it's not on at 8pm.

As if anyone will care - final day of the Games. Can't see ITV getting much bang for its buck.

Well, they haven't just got it for one year. The Community Shield was an odd one because for the past three years it's been on Sky, which was a frantic last minute deal as it was just after Setanta had gone bust and it was coming up any minute. I don't know why they didn't just let ITV have it like the England friendlies, rather than bring in another media partner.

It's good it's on free TV, mind - for the first time since 1987 - so it should be a bit more of a spectacle. And at 1.30 it'll be out of the way of the big Olympic stuff, not that much happens on the last day anyway. In 2003 it was played on the hottest day in British history and if people wanted to watch it on TV then, they'll watch it now. I know it's not a competitive match but Man City vs Chelsea is a bit of a draw and seven days later Sky are trying to drum up an audience for Man City vs Southampton and Wigan vs Chelsea. I know you get points for those but if you're a casual viewer the former is far more interesting.

It'll be up against all the boxing finals which could very well have a British interest in potentially a few fights. Didn't the Amir Khan fight have a massive audience on a Sunday morning? I would of been better kicking off at 4pm.

It's not a massively important game but I think it'll do well as football fans welcome back the Premier League after so many international and european games.

If the god awful Team GB Mens side can pull in ratings, sure ITV will do well

Can anyone post the overnight figures for CBBC and Cbeebies for yesterday? It'd be interesting as many of the shows generally rate over 500k which a lot more than a lot of the channels that are reported.

It'd be up against EastEnders then, which if this thread is anything to go by has viewers that would still watch if they themselves were on fire!

It's unlikely to be a one year deal.

Will be interesting to see the BBC1/BBC3 split for the last half hour with gold medals on each side, though the canoeing on BBC3 being the more visually interesting event.

Amazing performances from team GB today, can see a cracking rating on BBC1 tonight......8m+ rating and 11m peak I would predict.

Looks like it. Wouldn't be surprised tonight to see the BBC News at Six moved to BBC2 (surprised it's not been scheduled as such) with the finals of the Womens Team Sprint scheduled at 6pm and mens event at 6.15pm.

“18:00 5* Home & Away - 236k (1.3%)
18:30 5* Home & Away - 249k (1.3%)”

The classic Home And Away episodes from day one is looking popular on Channel 5*

Yep in Athens, Amir Khan's match on the final Sunday had a 15 minute peak of 7.9 million a 64% audience share between 12.45pm and 1pm

So BBC2 should have strong ratings from 6-7pm tonight, though BBC killed it completely with the switch to BBC1 and cutting away from great scenes at Velodrome for 20 minute recap!
