Can i say well done for the ITV Anthem, the work of a genius.

Not sure whether this should be asked in soap forum but just wanted to know if anyone has any recent ratings for Neighbours in Australia?

If not, then could anyone say if its doing well or not?

When it moved channel's, I first heard that it was doing quite well but its been a while since the move and just wanted an update. If anyone has details, thanks!

According to www.Barb.co.uk, the opening ceremony got 24.24million viewers. The 3D coverage started at a different time and wasn't the same as Bbc1 so I don't think that is allowed to be added to bbc1 rating unless it was an exact simulcast. Only Fools and Horses still the greatest of all time for me, with OC a close 2nd.

So how about not adding the 3D viewers but still adding the 213k from BBCNC, doesn't that still beat OFAH?

It normally rates around 300,000 viewer, I think it was intially around 350,000 viewers but it is pretty stable these days. I think it was stated that 250,000 viewers was the expectation. It is regularly the highest multi-channel audience, usually only Heartbeat repeats or Big Bang Theory repeats get similar ratings

Home and Away usually rates around 900,000 in comparison.

Monday's Olympic peak looks like around 12m for @DaiGreene and athletics audiences over 10m much of the night #BBC2012

https://twitter.com/rogermosey

#Olympic coverage peaked at 12m during 400m hurdles with Dai Greene (#BBC1: 11.6m, Olympics1: 350k)

11.96m is pretty amazing given Greene's race was against the second Corrie! (11.6m on BBC1, 42.8%)

And indeed to be getting 10m most of the night against 90 mins of ITV soap!

Hodges: 9.3m average on BBC1 from 7-10pm

It should be noted in the great BBCNC debate that the OC was a scheduled programme on the NC.

2.2m for BBC2's Horizon last night.

2.1m for ITV1's The Hit Factory (2.3m inc +1)

Corrie held up well with 7.2m at 7.30pm, and 7m at 8.30pm (both inc +1)

Bit of a shocker for C4:

Dispatches - 500k (600k inc +1)
Simply Italian - 600k (700k)
Undercover Boss - 1.3m (1.6m)
Thelma's Gypsy Girls - 900k (1m)

6.2m for EastEnders on BBC Two last night: pretty good going!

...but only 1.3m for Panorama straight after. Which is why it must stay on BBC One.

Horizon rated very well.

Not too bad for an investigation into cutbacks to pest-control services, with its second half against Dai Greene (on top of being fully against CS as usual).

They wouldn't dare move it to BBC2 permanently.

The Olympic ratings will probably be a tad lower tonight as there's no big British names in action. The closing ceremony will probably rate above 20 million through.

Really? Robbie Grabarz is one of the favourites in the High Jump which is tonight and he's British so chances of a medal, also in the discus.

Yeah, but he has not had the most publicity compared to Dai Greene, Jess Enis and Mo Farah.

Greg Rutherford hardly had any publicity, but about 14m watched his winning jump.

BBC Two and ITV1 holding up well. 7 million for CS is in line with what it gets normally in summer without the olympics. BBC Two and more so BBC Four are probably catering for the more demanding non sports fans, of which there are a few million.

I suspect we might be seeing record viewing figures for a triathlon right now. The Brownlee brothers' bid seemed to be the lead medal prospect across the media this morning.

And looking good so far...

That's right, the BBC's coverage of the Paralympics was probably more than most other broadcasters in the world, NBC notoriously hardly bother with them, usually showing a half-arsed highlights show days later. Because of that there's far less coverage actually available, I don't think everything is filmed, so the Beeb showed more or less all that they were able to show. And the fact is that aren't the same as the Olympics, for many reasons, and would never get anywhere near the same level of coverage.

But given it came after a two-hour show about the Opening Ceremony, we can be sure that everyone watching the Opening Ceremony on BBC1 did so because they wanted to. It would be impossible to watch BBC1 all day because the line-up is so eclectic it's impossible to like everything they broadcast. Whereas it is possible to have BBC News on all day just for the sake of it.

Not that I'd count the BBC News viewers anyway because I don't know who would specifically tune in to that channel to watch the Opening Ceremony.

Perhaps yoou're asking the question the wrong way around. How many "8:59" BBCNC channels viewers would have switched to BBC1 had the coverage not been simulcast? Obviously we'll never know!

It's certainly a can of worms this one. I was one of the 114,000 who watched on BBCHD (though wishing I'd not bothered with hindsight). I would patently have watched on BBC1 if I'd not had a 3D telly. So why should I not be counted?

It's like if I am watching a football match on BBC1 and press the red button for different audio commentary. Am I still watching BBC1?

Perhaps we should keep some cans of worms in the Ratings Thread storecupboard, alongside the stopwatches and tin hats? I hope GeorgeS hasn't got himself locked in there, thus explaining his disappearance - maybe someone should check....?
