DS reports the ratings for the Closer never once dipped below 20m during the live show! However, one million switched off during George Michael, never to return - had they not put George up, one assumes the Opening Ceremony peak would have been blitzed and the average even higher!
Also, they say it was ITV's worst day of ratings in its entire 57 year history (and this is Paul Millar of all people having to write this -
- fair play to him), with a derisory 3.9% prime time share, the worst ever by a massive margin.
BBC1 got a 66% primetime share!
