Also- him saying "its up to Lauren"- hes not fighting for her? Even if she doesnt want you (for arguments sake) he'd just leave?

And having said that, why does he leave tomorrow? does he have the intentions of coming back? :S
Joeys messed Lauren around a lot - but not out of choice I add - so I assume he just feels like now that she knows the truth it should really be up to her. Every decision has been made for Lauren, he wants to give her the chance to make her own decisions now.

That episode was so amazing, but so heartbreaking. Joey running down the steps shouting "Dad"
He broke my heart actually!! David was amazing tonight!!

Looking at it from a Joey/Lauren perspective, that was probably the best possible episode; neither of them killed Derek, Joey's guilt is not being allowed to try to help him, and they presumably patched things up in the room while Derek was alive.

Other than that, there wasn't much else up with the episode. The "twists" were far too obvious.
Tbf this is a very good point, we were never really going to get anything tonight because the focus is on Max and Derek and in a way that was ideal.

Lets just remember that next Thursday and Friday there's a LOT of Jouren for us to look forward to

Love entails the concern/welfare of the other half. Just like we've seen with Joey.

I know I actually thought tears were going to start coming down his face! I think he is doing the right thing and he knows what he is doing, joey has to let lauren make choices and decisions as she has had that taken her away from here for a couple of weeks, so now its her turn. In the outlook joey is doing the right thing I think

I agree. The ball is in her court at the moment. Like you said, it wasn't his choice and he didn't want to hurt her but he spent weeks doing just that. I suppose he feels like he's hardly in a position to expect her to forgive him and them get back together. I think Lauren could see tonight how much he Joey didn't want to hurt her.

I disagree. I think he is in a position to expect forgiveness. He did it to protect her. It was all down to the circumstances.

- 28 minutes in, 33 secs, Lauren is looking at Joey and smiling! Just noticed. Wish they'd shown a two way!

Joey wanted Lauren to make up her mind about whether she could forgive him or not because after all, not out of choice, he's messed her around for almost a month! I'm glad they seem to have sorted things now though

He did do it to protect her and I think she knows that now even though she doesn't really understand it because in her eyes Joey should have chosen her. But Joey has been telling her for weeks that they can't be together, that they should avoid each other and she's been hurting every single day because of that. She's spent weeks being completely confused because she didn't know why Joey suddenly broke up with her.

To be honest, I think Lauren will forgive Joey fairly quickly, if she hasn't already, but I think he's doing the right thing by letting her make a decision about where they go from here.

yeah true but him running away tomorrow- in his head is it for good? because if so, it's bizarre. you'd think he'd want to stick around for Lauren.

OH NO I think the writers had Joey lie. I dont think he knew that Lauren was aware of Derek giving him two choices.
He says "i didnt have a choice", "derek would have gone to the police" but doesnt mention him being the loving son until she does.

So is he lying to her until that point? Im confused. I hope not.

I think he meant the "I didn't mean to ruin your Christmas" comment in both ways tbh, specifically and generally.

Sorry for the questions- but why does he says "its up to Lauren"?
I thought he was really loving tonight in that scene. But I would have liked EE to have him give more of an explanation.

That he couldnt see her go to prison-
And also if he had chosen her - at the time he thought it was the wrong thing.
Because Tanya told him she knew, and Max said he wasnt welcome anymore.
So it was only a matter of time before their relationship was exposed and it would have ended badly. he wanted what was best for her.

I guess they just didn't have time for a full explanation due to all the Derek and Max drama tonight, I'm sure something will be mentioned in passing but over than that the closest we'll get is if somebody writes a follow up fic.
