I know he ignores her because he knows she isn't supportive, and when she turns up she is helping alice with the funeral, so that's his provaty, but he see how upset lauren gets that's why he goes to talk to her and explain that he is grieving and opens up to her and then they end up kissing

@starlight54, he doesn't ignore her because she's not supportive, he ignores her because he's made up with Alice and he's helping her choose music for Derek's funeral. Tonight's episode was so sad!

With the selfishness and lack of respect from her, im scared for their future.
Is she going to change, is she going to be more ambitious, because if she isn't I dont see it working out.
EE writers can sometimes push board cant they, she can be sensitive yet they have her tied up in thinking about her relationship.

When she said "everything can go back to normal" did she mean they can go back to being a couple? incredibly rude and selfish

If she had heard his argument with Alice, and looked at his face when she sat near him she would known he was grieving.

No joey makes up with alice for running away and helps her choose the music

Tonight was just a miss understanding that's all. It says for next week Joey has returned to the Square, eager to support Alice following Derek's death. However, convincing an emotional Alice to forgive him for disappearing will be a tricky task. When Lucy informs Lauren that Joey is back, she rushes to Number 23 to see him. However, with Joey busy selecting music for Derek's funeral with Alice, he largely ignores Lauren and she leaves after getting upset.

Later, Joey finds Lauren at The Vic and explains his strange behaviour by admitting that he's grieving for Derek and is desperate to support Alice. Lauren and Joey end up kissing passionately, but are mortified when they realise that Lucy has spotted them.

It was strange tonight on how she acted I mean she seemed like she was going to be really supportive at the start when she was asking about him, but maybe something last night happened between the both of them and that was playing on her mind. I'm not sure but tonight at the end she was selfish just thinking about 'herself' where if he seen joey nearly in tears I think she would be different, I really hope it works and it looks like it does for a few weeks I'm just hoping it carrys on and she can go back to be herself and thinking about others too. When joey tells her about him grieving I think she supports him then because she realises

Yeah I know that happens but how can you guys ignore the nature of lauren's character today? EE are starting to annoy me.
They've portrayed them as a couple emotionally connected, and in being cousins you'd think she would not have said those things and would have been supportive. Maybe even just letting him know that she was there for him. Or asked him how he felt.

He knows he true colours now- and that's what really worries me.

She doesnt though. She knows from today that hes grieving hes told her, yet she'll go round when he comes, not supporting him but wanting to salvage her relationship.

I don't think Lauren was being selfish. She just didn't consider that Joey would be upset. He's spent months hating Derek so she wouldn't have expected him to be upset about it. He's trying not to break down. I think when he walked away from her, that surprised Lauren but she didn't go after him because she knew he probably needed time on his own.

I think she said it mainly because joey always goes on to her about not liking derek, she didn't realise that he was grieving, I think she missunderstood the effects it has had on joey and she is thinking he is not bothered when really he is because of how he acted towards him when he was alove

In his eyes, she will have been though. Speaking of their relationship essentially and nothing else. "things going back to normal"- at that point he didn't seem interested.

if she was really wanting to find him, she obviously wanted to be there for him. (so knowing he is hurting) and i would have thought she heard his conversation with alice.

I understand what you mean, and where your coming from and I totally agree! We don't know how long there staying depening on how the relationship with lauren plans out, we never know along the line they may get on like a house on fire or it won't work

I think we will see how much it effects him, on how he reacts when he first sees lauren again next week, he could of let it go over his head because of his main prority is alice, but then they still may be a little bit inside of him that keeps playing on his mind

In Joey's eyes she was being selfish yes, and when he said that about her only seeing things black and white he was angry with her. But being mad at her doesn't mean he no longer loves her. I think once he explains to her why he's upset we'll see her being really supportive

comforting someone you love is hard, when the person you love has lost a parent....I wouldn't say that Lauren's selfish because of what she said, but she could perhaps say that she's here for him if he wants to talk...but as i wrote/said, it is hard and the words being said, can have a negative response in the eyes of the griever... (does that makes sense?)

@starlight54 Lauren didn't know how Joey felt, or that he was even gonna be affected by Derek's death because of the way he acted when he was alive. How was she supposed to know when she hadn't even seen him? All she wants is to be happy with Joey because she loves him, and you can't exactly blame her for that.

I hope so but if that was the case, she'd be supportive and apologize when he got back, but he still has to explain to her as to why hes grieving- she should know after todays comment.

And also, lots of events have happened in the past 48 hours for Lauren! She was drunk, destroyed the wedding, and then Joey came back as she wasn't expecting him, plus the stuff with her dad and finally Derek's death!! That's A LOT!!
It's perfectly understandable her feelings are all over the place right now!! She definitely needs some support and protecting herself as Cora told Tanya during the Hen night!
We can't expect her to be supportive of Joey, not just yet!! She needs time on her own too! The two of them being apart is in my opinion good for the future of their relationship and we know they will reunite on the 3rd January! I have faith in them!!

Yeah but hating/loathing someone, in this case someone who happens to be your dad doesnt mean you wont feel anything when they die. And when she sat near him, she should have been able to tell by his face and tears that he was upset.

But the spoilers confirm this, even after he gets back she's worried about the relationship, not him. It really frustrates me. Love entails putting the other before yourself. Just like joey did when he broke her heart.
