Do I go with Sky, Virgin or BT Broadband ?
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum,
I've just dumped AOL/TalkTalk as being to expensive. I've got the option where I live of any of the 3 above. I don't want TV packages, just broadband. Any one got any thoughts on relibility, speed, cost and general efficiency of these 3 companies as broadband providers ? Sorry If this has been asked before, did a search but couldn't find anything Ashley

Ask people in your area as ISP's vary in Performance area to area. I had virginmedia installed last year an it was a disaster. Outages every week, useless for gaming, power levels going loopy hitting traffic manegment crippling the connection.
I'm now with sky an it's been flawless for 5 months but others may well tell you the exact opposite so as friend family in you local area. An find out if VM Are over subscribed in your town as that's VERY IMPORTANT with VM. |

Never had a problem with Virgin, I can't have it where I am now as theres no supply so went with Sky..... its been absolutely appaling in comparison, its slow, useless for gaming and streaming is sometimes not even worth bothering..

I recommend Virgin Media fibre optic but only if you have packages XL and above the 20Mb one is poor and you notice the traffic management on it whereas the 60Mb one you don't do much.

The op doesn't indicate what speeds he's been estimated as receiving with Sky or BT , can he get fibre optic via BT ? If he has no infinity in his area and only receives poor ADSL speeds then VM BB (Cable) is a no brainer.
