Out of every celeb in there, I thought Brian was by far the most human. I.e. He was the only one who could make me feel what it was really like in there.

The others are too closed up and 'professional'.

I thought his task was the worst I've ever seen on any IAC. Who the f*ck wants to open their mouth and then head into a pie with x amount of flies on it before they even know what the hell is in it?

As far as being a former drug addict. I must admit I never gave this a thought in realtion to his irritable behaviour. I honestly thought he had developed a phobia after that pie task. I mean who wouldn't?

If he still has probs with addiction or whatever, I truly admire him for at least giving IAC his best shot.

I think the biggest factor of him leaving has been the death of his gran who brought him up.

All and all, it's been a real horrible time for him and who can blame him for leaving. Least of all facing up to that witch JSP

Best of luck Brian. And oh yeah we know your bird was flying over today. Well a good day to you both.

Great post JTW (apart from the JSP bit ).

I liked Brian, very down to earth guy. Bit too much to ask of anyone, coping with bereavement and the jungle. Not to mention the flys and Farting Monitors .

So best of luck and hope Emma gives you lots of TLC.

Awwww poor Brian , but perhaps it's for the better. Looked at another way you could say JSP got him through this far, and the fact that he left IAC following a set-to with her could be as a result of both he not really knowing how to say sorry to a friend, and also I think that perhaps he could not have really taken out his anger on anyone but JSP- they were pals.

I'm a bit out of the celeb loop these days..........is this girlfriend of his Emma Bunton, who used to be in the Spice Girls...............the hot totty beat combo that the youngsters used to like ?

Or is she that disc jockey from Radio One ?

BTW.........I agree that Brian seemed the most 'normal' one there.

I'll miss him, he was honest about how he felt. His trial was sick and OTT.

Janet is canny and grounded, I think she could see that Brian wasn't coping because of his personal grief.

Of course Brian is the ex of Danniella Westbrook, who also like Brian quit the jungle in tears, and whose cocaine addiction managed to rob her nose of her septum (though of course growth-stunted Brian's own septum appeared to be untorn).

Will the next IAC be sponsored by The Priory? There seems to be a major escalation in the perceived entertainment value of shaky recovering ex-addicts, maybe ITV should start petitioning for Pete Doherty, Shaun Ryder, Angus Deayton, James Nesbitt, Anna Friel and the Gallagher brother of your choice for next Spring's show.

That would be the reply where you said something about music producers and Christmas no.1's, yes? Other than Brian himself, what's the connection?

Cynical old me smells a rat - anyone notice that when he had the final rant and ripped off his mic and transmitter....the mic was taped to his clothing so it 'could' be ripped off dramatically...everyone else has thier mic wire under their tops.
They wouldn't do that would they....

Nonsense, think we should have a completely new show.

I'm a Digital Spy employee / freelancer get me out of here

I admit the title needs a little work, but I have an excellent idea for the show. Contestants would be given a computer and be asked to solve complex computer problems, for example: Windows is failing to boot and keeps restarting, or more exciting: My router wont connect to my broadband provider.

I'm sure its the way forward - further ideas?

I've never actually read anywhere that Brian Harvey was a drug addict - yes, he's clearly done drugs in the past as he's admitted - did it get to an addicted stage? Does anyone know for sure?

Brian was alright. He reminds me of his ex in many ways (her from eastenders that chucked the 2nd series). He even looks like her

I liked his low-tolerance moaning. It was nice to see someone having a go at Janet for her inconsistency too.

Didn't he get into trouble advocating the use of E's on TV

Radio interview actually - said he'd taken 15 in one night & that they weren't harmful - he had a chance to put things right with a follow up interview when he said that he didn't do it anymore, he just smoked pot nowadays - his comments were actually discussed in Parliament - and he was promptly sacked from E17

=========================================

A favourite weekly music critic on GMTV, Emma B has also hosted various music shows, including Top of the Pops and HYPE for the BBC, Do Not Sleep on Channel 4 and ITV's music show The Base.

From her early days working at Creation Records, Emma has always been passionate about music and often DJs across the country when she can. She is one of the station's most talented and versatile presenters. As first choice to stand in for Steve Lamacq, Chris Moyles and Mark and Lard, she's just as comfortable on Radio 1 daytime as she is fronting specialist music programmes in the evening.

Regularly presenting the Sunday Surgery Emma is ever-ready with the radio hugs and not afraid to give out tough advice. She also speaks out on a wide range of social issues, leading to her fronting documentaries on issues such as student poverty and the legalisation of cannabis.

Emma has also established herself as a brilliant live host, a skill perfected during six weeks on the road with Radio 1 and regularly presenting the Sunday Surgery in front of a live audience.

====================

Accomplished rather alot I'd say. Certainly not vacuous!
