I've only ever tried to remove them myself once and it was a nightmare. I think it took me about 6 hours and my nails were a complete mess. I would get it done proffessionally. I don't think it costs too much to have them removed, I just couldn't be bothered to go

You'll need acetone. Pour it in a bowl and dunk your fingertips in for about 20-30 minutes. The nails will start to peel off, you can use an orange stick to help. If you file the nail over the acrylic nail to thin it out a bit first you might not need to soak them for as long.
Another way is to soak cotton wool balls in the acetone, then fix them to your nails with tin foil (like they do in salons to remove Shellac). Use a good nail and hand moisturiser when you've finished. |

Soak a cotton pad in acetone, wrap it around your finger nail and secure it with foil. Leave for 20 mins. Done!

Pretty much the above. The foil technique works for glitter polish too.
Ive never worn false nails, but thats what I thought would be the best thing! |

For the sake of a few pounds, I'd say get them removed professionally. You can unwittingly do so much damage to your nails removing enhancements yourself, which can be permanent. It's really not worth the risk IMO.

Go to ANY beauty parlour and they'll do exactly what I've suggested. Why waste the money!
Because not all acrylic enhancements can be soaked off with acetone. Some hard gels need to be buffed off. |
