Jellybean dose look very nice on the Google Nexus 7.
I dont think my HTC Desire S is will get the new software upgrade as its no had an upgrade since 2.3.5 Gingerbread and HTC sense 3.0. If I was to get another mobile and that may not be for another 6 or 7 months im no sure if I would get an other HTC unless I knew it had good wi-fi for I was out other night in a pub next to a hotel near me not long after getting the Nexus 7 and both conceted to wi-fi but the Nexus 7 seemed to work better as at times the Desire S was very slow in loading web pages. Also the Desire S seems to suffer from signal drop outs in very weak signal areas. I very pleased to far with the Nexus 7 and jellybean. Only thing is Jellybean dont support flash player for the BBCi player and the Facebook app dont seem to have everything on it that it dose on the Desire S. Darren |

On your Xoom, go to Settings > Apps > All
Locate Google Services Framework and click on it. Press Clear data You’ll now see a warning saying “All this app’s data will be deleted permanentl. This includes all files, settings, accounts, databases, etc.”. Don’t worry… it won’t actually delete anything of yours! None of your apps or data will be lost! Press OK Go back to Settings > About tablet > System updates Press Check now....and voila you should get your update.. |

and weirdly enough, turned it on this morning with intention of checking the above info, and before i even could it said there was a system update available now and has installed it and it showing 4.1.1... although tbh i cant notice any difference... just took a few days longer to offer the update than some for some reason??? |

Since gedifying my Xoom and updating to Jelly Bean, I get an occasional weather gadget with the temperature in Fahrenheit appearing in the info box at the bottom right. Does anyone know where this is coming from and how to get rid of this annoying feature?

It's part of the card system in Google Now. You need to go to now settings to remove it.

So many questions ![]() And finally, why is it not aware of my locale (en-GB), and displaying the temperature in Fahrenheit? I don't want stone-age American units, thanks ![]() Edit: I Googled Google Now but am not much the wiser after reading about it. It seems totally US oriented. |

From what I gather Now is something that will evolve over time. In the meantime you might have a look at this article to get an start-up idea.

Ah, thanks for that. Once I'd discovered I had to dismiss the keyboard to find the three dots at the bottom right it was plain sailing. I managed to change the temperature units to Celsius which was the main thing that was bugging me.
I think this is a feature designed more for phones than tablets, though, since it's really meant to be providing relevant information as you move from place to place. Another thing I found out from that article is that you can swipe up one of the soft keys at the bottom to get to Google, which is useful. |
