Why would you be surprised? Big Brother is a study in people watching, analysing behaviours and motives - we are all psychologists to some extent.

My own view on Caroline is that she is simply an over-privileged, over-indulged, spoilt brat with a propensity to insult and demean others in order to bolster her own ego.

BB has always had a pop-psychology angle, but it does get a bit silly when people try to diagnose the housemates after a quick Google.

I agree to some extent. I thought her behaviour when she was live last night was very erratic and out of the norm but I wouldn't go as far as to call her a sociopath or autistic, as one FM has labelled her

Usually when ppl can't understand another person's behaviour, they call 'em mentally unstable or unhinged.
Personally, I think she had suffered a massive shock with the booing, and was then subjected to the mob with BOTS. Ofc, with it being Caroline, she was going to react the way she did. It was either that, or burst out crying (something most of us on here would have done.)
I wonder if BOTS treat 'funtime' Conor the same way, or call out Ashleigh and Luke on their relationship? Or maybe they could ask Jamie's pet, Becky.. why the rather contrived act?
Doubt it will happen.

Not a fan of Caroline, but she's a young girl who had to face that, and managed not to cry on TV.
I know I would have done.

I'm not a great one in calling a hm mentally insane or psycopathic or whatever...................theres no call to go to them lengths.................

BUT

The lass has some serious personality concerns and in some respects i feel quite sorry for her..................she's young so hopefully she can discard some of her worst personality traits. She would be advised to go on a long holiday................keeping her in the limelight for even the short time they are BBOTS etc.............is going to do nothing for her, I don't think she has the personality to turn people around.

She was terrified............the manic nature was just a 'look at me I don't care' act.............She does not grasp how awful she can be and hence couldn't accept the 'irrational hatred' towards her.............so she went with it................she feed the wolves.

Personallyme I think her behaviour last night can probably be put down to having had a few too many sherbets

I would have cried too, I think that's the point, it would be a normal reaction. IMO she definitely has issues which I hope she gets help for and I don't think you need letters after your name to see that, just eyes.....

I'm more surprised that you've been on the forum since 2003 and only just reaslised this?

I'm also surprised that you think it is unusual for posters to cast doubt on a hm's mental condition - particularly when the hm in question is Caroline - who has displayed abnormal behaviour for weeks now.

She is an adult, not a young girl.

Why DO people refer to immature adults - and in this case - a very immature woman - as a girl.

She's an adult.

Pretty much.

Even sabotaging the shopping could be said to giving a reason for people's dislike of her as much as winding the others up.

BB was throwing her into an environment and with people totally out of her comfort zone. She doesn't have much life experience, and the missing chunk of her personal development was totally exposed in the house.

It was a crash-course for her, one she couldn't deal with maturely and failed. But one she could still learn from.

Apparently you can also make a psychiatric diagnosis based on 24 hours edited into 3 minutes of highly edited and rearranged conversations.

Given the amount of times BB had a taling to her in the diary room about her behaviour and her words to and about others: it's clear that she is incapable of learning. A person has to want to learn - she clearly is not interested in doing so.

Perhaps in a few years when she takes her head out of her own arse: reality might finally dawn on her. I seriously doubt it though.

Buggar me... so I've dreamed up all the stuff I've been watching all these weeks? And I'm not allowed an opinion because you class it as a psychiatric diagnosis.

Drat.

My point wasn't ..she's a young girl, let's excuse her behaviour.
It was, she's a young girl who was subjected to that.
Meaning, grown men and women were booing at her, and then.. even the likes of Lauren.. (who has suddenly grown a backbone,) and BOTS decided to have a go at her too.
Not excusing her nasty behaviour in the least, but it's not nice to view, nvm be subjected to it.

She isn't the sort to listen to anyone else, that's the immaturity. Thinking she knows best, almost rebelling in a way. Most people go through that phase, then they are given a reason to change and to have to listen to other people. A job, a relationship, things where you have something personally invested in it which you could lose.

Caroline has been protected from all that, so has never had to confront the reality of her behaviour. Watching the show back, being able to see herself as others see her may help.

It's not the accident you learn from, it's the post-mortem

Ok, an adult who had to face that.
Why do you keep addressing how I see her, instead of what i'm trying to get across?

It doesn't matter if you're 20, 30 or 40...no one should have to face that, and ppl react to things in different way.
I'd probably cry, so kudos to the girl..she's a few years younger than me, but obviously made of sterner stuff.
Maybe it was her way of dealing with a pretty awful night.
Fgs, even her own family weren't there to help her along.
Is it any wonder the girl might have an unengaging personality?

I'd say it's because this is a forum where people talk about Big Brother. Stating the obvious, but then how else should you respond to sarcasm?

Why shouldn't we discuss Caroline's, frankly at times, bizarre behaviour? She's one of the most socially inept people they've ever had in the BB house.
